First of all Harley was having a hard time finding her own lair and processing who she is and then she just froze. So they had to go into Harley's mind to bring her back and to find the truth about her origin and as I thought she jumped into the acid herself. But now she made herself a new origin and it's when she finally dumped Joker. That was really something!

Nicole Brown, Aisha posted some very silly stuff on social media in between seasons, soliciting money using her connection to cobra kai, so behind the scenes its pretty clear thats why she was let go. its sad but imo justifiable, it seems to have been handled quite well the show runners and producers i.e zabka and macchio. They never said anything bad about her, and for her she never said anything bad about them or the show, but the timing was just too close to be coincidental, in fact this whole story is kinda difficult to find these days, no-one was trying to burn anyone just a series of unfortunate events.
