So Espada 9, Aaroniero, is only Gillian derived arrancar among the Espada, whereas most of them are Vasto Lordes (character book: unmasked). In fact, we know that Grimmjow's fracciones are Adjuchas derived arrancar, so for a Gillian to be an Espada he must be quite strong for his type of race, but also his ability is immense. Every being in Bleach has predestined limitations (importance of being arrancar thus to overcome limitations to a degree), and only Espada 9 doesn't really have such due to infinite evolution (he adds both abilities and reiatsu of the thing he eats to his own soul)

#SundayRundown Gotta say, Aaroniero needs to be listened to in sub. The Japanese voice actor that does that sword release is insane and has no business going that crazy. Along those same lines, the way that the English actors pronounce all of the Spanish words having to do with the Espada and hollows is rather disappointing, particularly how the Japanese dub uses the Spanish names for the numbers of the espada. I mean, half the words that they use are Spanish words that lend a lot to the lore of the show and the understanding of how the hollows operate. Arrancar = Tear off Sonido = sound Ressureccion = Ressurection Espada = Sword (in some places) and all of the arrancar sword releases (Golondrina = Swallow, Glotoneria = glutton, Brujeria = witchcraft, Los Lobos = the wolves and a great band) sound so much cooler in spanish because they are spanish words that explain something about either the appearance or the power. I would encourage the Normies to try and make sure to look up those words in real time because it lends a lot to your understanding of each Arrancar. Tite Kubo's fascination with Mexico for the hollows and Germany for the Quincy, as a Mexican-German-American (beaner schnitzel if you will) anime fan, is so fun to experience but sad to see the lack of attention that the dub gives those cool aspects of bringing in non-japanese cultural aspects like the how all of the hollow masks are like sugar skulls for day of the dead and Chad's connection to Hueco Mundo as a Mexican character or that the quincy use so many German words in naming their items. It is quite unfortunate to see how little attention that is given in the dub considering how many Latin fans it will reach with the dub as opposed to the sub.

Sadly just about all of the Uryuu/Peche fight are in the manga. The only content differences I remember are I don't think Peche imagines sacrificing himself, and Uryuu doesn't spend as long shooting her to figure out the vibrations and pull his light saber.

Ok has Rena always been so heartless and not in the mood for any comedy or she just doesn’t give to shits about bleach

This is around the time I dropped Bleach during my first watch, and when I came back I just had it on as background noise for at least a dozen episodes before it ramped up again so I can't blame them for complaining or checking out. I hope they stick through it tho cause everything that comes after makes Bleach top 5 for me

bondbond53

Still better than Demon Slayer comedy bits

bondbond53

They are gonna orgasm at the TYBW pacing and editing. Bleach anime is like edging

PKKite

The dub uses the Spanish words too what are you on about?

james lee

Yeah I think she doesn’t like bleach I get it though it’s not for everyone

Carlos Andres

The Japanese dub uses significantly more words in Spanish throughout and the English dub changes a lot of those words to English i.e. using Spanish numbers instead of Japanese or English

More like Blech am I right

2023-11-30 02:28:37 #SundayRundown I cannot lie the couch being absolutely livid at Pesche and Dondonchoka is my favorite part of these episodes. Now for some fun(?) anime manga differences. The order of several fights has been changed for some reason. The fights with Uryu vs. Cirucci and Chad vs Gantenbainne were placed before Rukia vs Aaroniero with the outcome of those fights being used to lead into Rukia's thought process when meeting the fake Kaien. So yeah, instead of doing the fights that were already done they instead decided to animate the Rukia fight then cut halfway through that one to freaking Pesche's adventures with Uryu because they ran out of material for the Rukia fight. It actually boggles the mind. It isn't continuity breaking but I do wonder why they did it.

Also some interesting manga panel stuff that honestly doesn't translate well to anime is the way Aaroniero speaks. In the anime they will have them switch between the two voices and sometimes speak in unison. However in Japanese they do an honestly really neat untranslatable trick. You see there are three different alphabets used in Japanese: Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji(it's infinitely more complicated than that but just remember three alphabets). One Aaroniero head speaks with Kanji while the other speaks with Hiragana with one set being read left to right like with English words and the other written top to bottom like Japanese is usually written. Basically just a fun way for Kubo to make Aaroniero otherworldly. TLDR Kubo is a great at Japanese wordplay which does not work when translated from Japanese text to english speaking.

#SundayRundown I've said it before, but there's a difference between filler and padding. Episodes like 156 are NOT "mixed canon/filler". The armadillo-dick episode of "Naruto" IS mixed canon/filler because none of that animal courtship nonsense ever happened in the manga; only at the end of the episode do you get some canon with Tobi meeting Kabuto. By contrast, every single thing that happens with Pesche and Ishida in 156 of "BLEACH" happened in the manga; from the Infinite Slick, to the name-forgetting, to the tripping, to the conversations getting in the way of battle. The padding comes from the animations being extended, pauses in conversations, etc. No shade on y'all for hatin' the bois. Just makin' sure you understand: The anime is not screwing you over here. Though there's some padding, this is still Tite Kubo's original vision. Pesche and Dondochaka are supposed to be this annoying, and all of their antics are meant for you to get to know them in all their absurd glory. 👍🏼😛

#SundayRundown Rukia has just been using her shikai, we haven't seen her bankai. Also the technique she used against Arroniero, "Rikujokoro" is the same move Byakuya used against Renji in the soul society arc, super cool. I love how excited Suraj gets every time his favorite ost comes on lol it's called Creeping Shadows. Need any other names I got y'all. The Ford commercial sounding one is Battle Ignition (Chris is right, now that I think about it it sounds like a Ford commercial) 😂 and the beautiful fire ass violin ost is called Senna.

#Gurren Lagann Japanese people have some comedy gags that seem weird to westerners. Like the Dai-Gurren crew feeling what the ship experiences. For example the guys were cringing because it felt like water going up their buttholes when water got inside the ship. Other examples of gags are making gay characters ( or gay-like) slightly predatory. I shit you not little boy pp’s are also used as a gag, in the show they do it with Gimmy. Even poking buttholes, no matter who it is, is pretty common.

Nabeshin

Slight correction. It's not that we haven't SEEN Rukia's bankai. It's that Rukia doesn't HAVE a bankai. Renji and Ikkaku are anomalies in the world of the original show. We've briefly seen Rangiku and Yumichika training for it, but they haven't done it yet. Rukia has had no such training, and she is FAR from a lieutenant. I just don't want them to expect that Rukia (or any other non-captain) is gonna' bust that out at some point during this arc.

Benjamin Donahue

Don't think that was to make it "otherworldy", but to make it evident there were 2 voices from one source. Didn't know that though and it's a cool way of going about it in either case.

MojoJojoGojo

Pesche was really repetitive after the funny was done not gonna lie
