surj touched on it but didnt follow through. not EVERYONE has the fortitude TO be tough, so there is nothing anyone can do to change that. there are fragile beings that you beat and make stronger but there are also fragile beings that you can beat and break hence suicide and school shooters. you gotta teach/reach each person where they are at, not at your level. thats why therapists say "you cant raise all your kids the same because they are not the same. know your kid and handle them accordingly". some kids need whoppings, some need groundings, others need hugs. i would have handled the hawk situation differently "f what anyone has to say about the way you look. f em up if they ever run their mouth about your lip" BUT then we wouldnt get this character. every action creates a butterfly effect to give us the bomb show we all love, including johnny's insensitivity
