Oh no... its this dub, shame. This dub feels hella rushed and completely half assed, the voices feel like a one-take as well as how they decided to do a literal translation of the script for each scenes. I have not watched this newer dubbing past this 1.11 but from what i've heard from others is that the later movies, there are some egregious editing mistakes in the dubbing like mistimed dialogue to the scene or having voices when the character voices are closed. I hope the Amazon dub doesnt sour your experience of the rebuilds.

Make sure to watch the scene at the end of the credits of 2.22 or you will be confused going into 3.33.

TL;DR I'm a huge fan of the series, and I'm glad you are watching the movies. I don't think this counts as spoilers, since I don't discuss anything you haven't seen in The End of Evangelion, or 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone. But light spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched them yet I guess.. So the theory is, that this is both a reboot, and a kind of sequel. In the final scene of The End of Evangelion, there is a bloodstained sea, and the opening shot of 1.11 is extremely similar. The chalk outline is from an an event that happened in the first telling of the story. It already exist, before the fight where it was originally created, takes place. There is a blood stain on the moon, from all the blood that ended up in space during End of Eva.
