You guys are correct! The soul-reapers committed genocide to the Quincies for the balance of souls! Bleach has a system of reincarnation but Quincies take away souls from that cycle

i will say this, dont take much of what they say in terms of power scaling seriously, the whole royal task force bit i dont even know if it was in the manga, the menos grande is not as massive of a threat as rukia made it seem, kubo was still figuring out his worlds power at this point. kinda like how in early naruto they said the nine tails could destroy the planet, but way later on we see moon destruction is the peak of the naruto world

Chris, the whole point of being a shonen protagonist is not being a regular person. If the main character is regular, it's not shonen.

Mikumo from World Trigger is pretty much the definition of a regular guy protagonist. He does share the protagonist spot with Yuma, who is special, but Mikumo himself is like, definitionally average.

The Soul Reapers are really bad at their jobs. I haven't seen Bleach in a while and I forgot just how sketchy Soul Reapers were from week one. You would think that they would react to evil ghost Godzilla busting the wall between worlds down like the Kool Aid man would inspire some alacrity in them, but it's like LA police when they get a 911 call from the wrong neighborhood.

Like alot of series things get retconned later down the line the royal secret task force and calling it doom blast. Everyone needs to get the sticks outta their asses and remember its a shonen, and every shonen is dumb

Yeah, the whole Royal-Task-Force-takes-care-of-this thing is hilarious upon rewatch. This was a Kishimoto-style retcon. 😛 As for the dub, it's just as good as the "Naruto" one. In fact, while I prefer watching sub for each of the Big 3, the (modern) dubs for each of them are good, and make things easier for a big group reaction. Plus, I love seeing them react when they recognize the various English voices that they've heard in other things, and that's only going to happen more. For personal viewing, I prefer sub, but I can't wait for them to meet more English-voiced characters! 👍🏼
