why would they not release the reaction the day the episode premieres? do they not know that you’ll garner the most attention/views is on the release day?

she is actually in her 50s and waller is getting a show so you will get to see her out in the field within two years time. they are currently writing it as we speak. so instead of season 2 of peacemaker we are getting waller (doesnt mean we wont get peacemaker season 2 afterwards. just think of it like cival war aka avengers 2.5)

That only really matters for edited videos uploaded to youtube, and it requires a lot of editing/time to make those. Instead of YT views, I think their business relies more on patreon, and we've voted for a bunch of shows. So they have to handle all that recording & editing for all those shows/content, and then the logistics of changing a schedule and getting everyone together (unlike solo reactions)

“Why wouldn’t they all come back into work on a Friday night to do work, and then make their editors spend part of their weekend working” is essentially what you’re asking. It’s easy to forget, but this is still their job. They have schedules, and they have lives outside of work. Some or all of them may very well have had plans this weekend, Super Bowl related or otherwise, before HBO moved the air date of the episode. Don’t get me wrong, I’m eager to watch them react to the episode as well, but I had no expectation of seeing it before Monday as would normally be the case. Have a little patience and go enjoy the rest of the weekend!

This movie was pretty dope. Everybody killed it, and clearly put in a lot of work on this. Auntie Viola doin' all that at 57, sheesh!

Also, this came out a whole month or two before Wakanda Forever, so maybe the marketing for one competed with the other a little bit but I think it mostly just didn't get the support it deserved because it's a Black woman led film set in Africa no less. There were a ton of hurdles to get it made in the first place but apparently it did surprisingly well with its box office debut.

based on real events but not real dialogue. like the dahomey exist and they participated in the slave trade to a point and then they did rebel against it but im pretty sure all the characters are original to the film

I would suggest perhaps watching the Crown Netflix??? Its a show about Queen Elizabeth II and has a lot of drama and politics which I think this group would really enjoy! Keep doing your amazing reactions love every bit :)

Some people didn’t like this movie because it gets the actual history wrong. The people portrayed as heroes in the movie were in reality fighting on behalf of keeping slavery. But the film flips that around. That aside it can still be an entertaining movie, just realizing its not reality is crucial for some people.

Id like to see this type of film, but they make Hitler the hero if they can do it with the slave traders then people killing jewish people shouldnt be much different.

The British made Dahomey stop slavery. Until that point, there were enthusiastic enslavers, and the amazons committed mass slaughter on non-combatants. I like the movie, but it's only good if you think of it as an action movie about an alternate universe.

they exist. there is a nazi love story film. forget the name of it. there is also a gay nazi love story book. and some of the main characters in man in the high castle (on prime) are nazis and not painted as purely evil. they got lives and children and morals and hearts

It's understandable why people wouldn't like this film. It makes for good drama but really distorts history. That said, a lot of films distort history so where should the line be drawn?

I love how all the historians show face now. Considering these mf’s probably read a white narrative paragraphs about this particular tribe and considered it all legit. pointing out historical innaccuracies in say the inglourious basterds is one thing because its clearly not trying to be historically accurate but when a film like woman king says its based on true events and then they try to get you to root for people that enslaved their own kind and "empower" them that's where most reasonable people draw the line
