So a bit of basic backstory for the cyberpunk world that the show never tells you, the world has been through 2 apocalypse already, one more physical which is why some parts of the world are just wastelands, and a digital one where most of the internet was broken and they can only access part of it now. also you can get brain implants, they just dont fully replace the brain like you do with arms, legs, organs etc. cyberpsychosis can happen from either a bad implant, or too many/ too strong implants, basically fries your brain like if you overclock a cpu too much

I would add to the cyberpsychosis to be a mix of bad mental health treatments or the lack of it and what you said. There were missions in the game where there were experimental treatments for cyberpsychos, which was pretty much therapy and probably removing their destructive implants. I wish it was explored more in the game.
