What up, guys? It's Pat!

If you know me, you know how much I love Kobe! Tomorrow is the anniversary of his unexpected death, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others who died in that terrible helicopter crash in Southern California on January 26, 2020.

I remember vividly the day how I found out. I was at my brother's new house in Akron, celebrating his and his wife Aki’s birthdays that weekend. I get a text from my nephew “Sorry Pat about Kobe.” I freak out, get on Twitter and just let headline after headline hit me. These emotions came all over me, and did not know how to process them. I packed up my things, left my brother’s house within 30 minutes, and drove back home to Indy. Just feeling the feels, remembering, and watching his final game on YouTube while driving home.

After a few days, I wanted to keep him alive and show how much he meant to me. So I decided to write a video essay on Kobe, which was two years in the making. The hours researching, watching old highlights or interviews, reading comments on how he impacted others, and countless revisions and edits to this essay kept him alive for me. It took me so long because I wanted to make sure the Normies community would perceive it well and that the tribute does justice to Kobe! I didn't want to fail my icon! But there will never be a perfect time, So I'm sharing it with y'all now!

This was my first video essay, never done something like this before, and I learned a lot during this process, from writing to recording the video essay. Significant thanks to Evan, one of our talented editors, for doing such a great job with it. He made it turn out really well! It definitely gives me the confidence to do more content like this in the future.

I hope you guys enjoy this tribute to my role model KOBE BEAN BYRANT! Let me know what you guys think & thank you for reading/watching!

There Will Never Be Another Kobe Bryant | Kobe Bryant Tribute

Three years after his death, Pat remembers Kobe Bryant one of the greatest basketball players to be in the NBA. During his career, Bryant was one of the first international superstars in basketball, gaining prominence in China in particular. When faced with challenges, Bryant would turn to the Mamba Mentality, overcoming injuries like the tearing of his Achilles tendon in 2013. After his retirement he pushed to further women's basketball and the WNBA by coaching his daughter Gianna Bryant and elevating icons in the league such as Diana Taurasi and Sabrina Ionescu. 0:00 Introduction 0:34 Kobe Bryant: International Superstar 6:19 Legacy on Women's Basketball 13:32 The Mamba Mentality We are The Normies, a group of entertainers that create reaction and review videos of various TV shows, anime, trailers, and movies as well as original content such as comedic skits and sketches, vlogs, and podcasts. Dude I am so happy that the pateron family likes this tribute. There are not many Kobe or Lakers fans in Indy so it is hard to find people who feel the same way. -Pat

Love it Pat! I remember that day so clearly too. I'm not usually an emotional person, but when the news broke I was in tears. Even though he had retired, it still felt like Kobe was so present in my life. So many memories. RIP to everyone that lost their lives that day.

MojoJojoGojo

Kobe is what got me into liking sports in general. Could say he's the reason I found love for anything fitness basketball, football, soccer track all types of physical activity Thank You Kobe!

Ahh man this is dope as hell Pat! I love this!!! I’m a huge Kobe fan too even tho I’m from NY he’s always been my fav player and I consider him my goat idc what anyone else says lol and I’m pretty sure you feel the same too! This brought the feels back all over again man I appreciate you for this! #MambaMentality4L 💛💜

A. P.

Dope, well done!

Johnathan E Llorente

Kobe always went hard. I appreciated his work ethic. His tenacity was something to behold. This coming from a heat fan. Him and D Wade always had some battles.

Kayso

Can't believe it's been 3 years. What's crazy is I was at work earlier and thinking to myself damn tomorrow is the anniversary. 2020 really was a depressing year, gotta go down as one of the worst years. This happened in January which took everyone by surprise, then a few months later covid and then shut down and every month something bad kept happening and I even told myself that 2020 will be a great year for me. It was a leap year, also an even number as I love even numbers and 2020, the year of vision. Great job Pat love the Kobe tribute.

M.

Personslly I can't stand Kobe. Extremelt talented but greedy ball hog ...and certified rapist. But this was extremely well made. Almost made me change my opinion about him.

Manny Jones

Wtf are you talking about man? The guy’s been dead for 3 years and your first sentence is to disrespect his memory? If you had nothing nice to say you didn’t have to fucking comment. If Kobe was actually guilty of that “rape” why wasn’t he incarcerated for it? & the label of “greedy ball hog” is crazy when he’s averaged 5 assists for his career excluding injury riddled seasons. And James Harden JUST passed him for most assists by a guard all time. And Kobe retired in 2016…

M.

1. You can get assists and still be a ball hog. Look at Russ. Dude was an inefficient chucker who would rather shoot over 4 dudes to be a hero than make a pass. 2. Settling out of court doesn't make you innocent. It means you're privileged/rich. You're naive af. 3. Idc if he's been dead 3 minutes. He's a rapist. I don't owe him any respect. Nobody does. 4. "Nothing nice to say"? I was complimenting the video. You just got triggered because I don't like the grown man you idolise. Pathetic.

“You can get assists and still be a ball hog” is the most contradictory statement I’ve seen all day. If someone’s a ball hog that means he’s not passing the ball at all therefore not getting any assists. Much less having the most in his position all time. I’m sorry if he played with literal bums for several years that weren’t good enough to anything with the ball once he gave it to him. When he got actual serviceable teammates he was definitely much more of a willing passer. Also his job description is literally to score, every player doesn’t have to be Bron to be considered not a ball hog. I don’t ever hear that label given to Kawhi who averages less assists than he did lmao. Also stamping Kobe a rapist is insane without actual proof. Were you there? You seen him do it? You know for an absolute fact that he’s a rapist? Or you never liked him to begin with and he ended up with that scandal and you believed it and ran with it cuz you just wanted some tangible reason to hate Kobe other than your shitty basketball takes. “Certified rapist” by someone who was never involved with the trial in any capacity whatsoever is just asinine to me. Enjoy your delusion tho. 🤝🏾

Anonymous

he was never convicted of rape so how is he a certified rapist? or do you just want him to be to rationalize why you don't like him?

M.

1. You can pass the ball a lot and not get assists. Hockey assists for example. You clearly just don't know the game. If you're only passing the ball when you think you'll get an assist that's stat padding/hogging. Getting assists isn't proof someone isn't greedy. Context matters. 2. He did not play with bums lmao. He played with some great players. Gasol and Shaq being the obvious ones. Shaq carried him ffs. 3. Kawhi isn't a ball hog. Again, assists don't matter. Try watching the games dude. 4. If you don't believe hes a rapist it's because you're deluding yourself. In your other post you said he's te goat. It's clear you've got every inch of him in your mouth and ass, you're stanning for him hard, your bias is clear. But go ahead, stay in denial. You're a moron.

M.

Settling out of court and issuing a public apology is how rich people get out of shit. You're naive kid. Everyone knows he did that shit. "Prosecutors seemed to have a strong case. According to court documents, an examination of the woman at a hospital revealed a bruise on her neck and tears in her vaginal wall. Both her underwear and Bryant’s shirt were bloody. Bryant told the police he had not explicitly asked for consent." Facts are facts.

Anonymous

that's not a fact. this is what a fact sounds like: Kobe Bryant is not a convicted rapist. so shut the fuck up and jog on.

Alison

Kobe was not a rapist. The entire career of that man no other woman accused him but that young lady who had a history of issues. She stated Kobe raped her but the rape kit that tested her underwear showed dna from a different male. She basically screwed another guy after Kobe to show physical tears and make it appear she was raped. That’s why she settled and didn’t go to court because it would have come out about the other guy. Shut up with your baseless accusations and not knowing all the facts.

M.

Not being convicted isn't the same thing as being proven innocent kid.

M.

Lmao. Delusional. Why do you think he paid her off? He admitted, on record, he did not ask for he consent. You're just another victim blamer.

Blake

So your really just gonna believe false allegations that were disproven in court

Anonymous

you are seriously on this page to slander a dead man's name, sport. jfc, the gall of some people.

M.

The allegations were never disproven. Get your facts straight. The Criminal case was dismissed because she was too scared to testify/didn't want to relive it. And the civil case he couldn't win so he settled out of court. Facts; - She had vaginal tearing and bruises consistent with sexual assault. - He admitted he never asked for consent. - Her blood was on his shirt. - You don't pay someone off when you didn't do anything wrong. If you're sure you're innocent why not settle it in court? Gtfoh. Everyone other than delusional Kobe stans knows he did that shit.

Cory Garron

Pass. One of about a dozen topics I've had enough of for the rest of my life.

M.

Slander? Lmfao gtfoh. A rapist is a rapist. I call a spade a spade. I'm not trapped in some weird hero worship for a dude I never knew. My bad for not being some delusional man-child.

Brakthir

Things you didn't need to comment about for 500, Trebek. Bruh, you don't have to announce your disinterest. You can just...not comment.

Anonymous

but you are trapped in some weird hate for a dude you never knew. and you actually think your opinion is anywhere close to fact. it's your bad for coming onto a Kobe tribute page and saying this nonsense. i guess a douche bag is a douche bag?

Cory Garron

Things you didn't need to comment about for 1000. Pat and I both live in free countries, he can make whatever videos he wants. I can comment whatever I wish. And you can cry out your insecurities about it, bub. 🙂

Brakthir

Lmao bub. What is this, the 90s? You're the kind of dude that announces that they're leaving a party because its lame. Guess what. No one cares.

Brakthir

bub, kid. Waiting for the next boomer term to show your condescending attitude. Bucko? Buddy maybe?

Cory Garron

I'm a boomer? 😄 You must still need warm milk before bed. *pats head* Or is this the point where you've tricked me into being as upset and defensive as yourself? Um... buddy. Thanks for the idea.

Anonymous

Lmao this whole thread is childish af. No one gives a shit what you think homie.

Toby

This isn't my cup of tea either, but I respect the fact that other people don't feel the same way. Not all content is tailored for my likes and interests. Honestly, having to explicitly express your disinterest just because "you live in a free country" sounds exhausting. Hopefully you find a more constructive approach to difference in opinions some day.

Cory Garron

Noting wrong with expressing it. I wasn't mean, or rude. Criticism is a part of life. Hopefully, you can learn to tolerate different opinions someday.

Alison

You really should read the transcript from interviews and dna evidence found. She contacted police to report the rape. They told her the rape exam would be the following day. She showed up with the underwear from the previous day she had on after screwing Kobe in a bag. The gold digging liar didn’t realize they would test the clothes she wore to the exam as well and her body. They found Caucasian male sperm and pubic hairs in the underwear she had on AND 3 spots of sperm from the Caucasian male on her thigh. So you tell me how a woman who was raped the day before would have a white guy’s sperm on her body and underwear. You are ignorant to automatically believe an accusation of rape without looking at all the evidence. Kobe apologized for his wife and kids and to move on from the entire ordeal instead of dragging it out in court. That girl would have lost definitely. Shut up your nonsense about Kobe being a rapist.

El hombre

I was annoyed by your comment, and then I read the replies you got, they're even more annoying and childish. I don't agree with you but I respect your opinion

M.

This isn't a kobe tribute page it's the normies reaction page. Wtf are you talking about?

Anonymous

Thank you for this Pat, Kobe was my hero appreciate you 💜💛

Anonymous

What a loser you are, and clearly not at all knowledgeable of the game, Kobe consistently led his team in assists, elite defender, never convicted of rape, you’re disgusting.

M.

I'm the loser says the guy so obsessed with another grown man that he put him in his username. Okay lmao.

"1. You can pass the ball a lot and not get assists. Hockey assists for example. You clearly just don't know the game. If you're only passing the ball when you think you'll get an assist that's stat padding/hogging. Getting assists isn't proof someone isn't greedy. Context matters." Your argument is pretty nonsensical. Regardless of motivation, an assist is an assist; meaning a player contributes to the eventual outcome of the game. Since you included hockey in your example I've heard similar arguments, you're making in NHL circles, about Gretzky and those arguments are nonsensical; as if 1963 assists didn't contribute to anything. Usually it's from people that don't like him because he burned their team and I get a similar vibes from you. "You don't pay someone off when you didn't do anything wrong. If you're sure you're innocent why not settle it in court?" There's a lot of lawyers who advise this for high profile people because it can be less expensive than going to court for potentially years and lawyers might advise plaintiffs not to go the trial route because they could get less money. This is more common than you think. Below is an older NY times talking about a study that confirms settling, in many cases, is better than going to trial. I suspect this is what happened with the Ray Lewis situation. From the article: "That is the clear lesson of a soon-to-be-released study of civil lawsuits that has found that most of the plaintiffs who decided to pass up a settlement offer and went to trial ended up getting less money than if they had taken that offer." https://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/08/business/08law.html

Looks like Corey and El hombre are assholes in their everyday life. I feel bad for their families.

Cory Garron

Looks like you're a coddled 12 year old, I feel bad for humanity. You're definitely more a Marty than a Rust.

El hombre

You insult me because I don’t agree with you, what does it say about your family? Lol

Cory Garron

1) Obviously nothing 2) Clearly your entire point is a fallacy, on both points.

Raul Iggynashow

Kobe passed Jordan in career points scored. That can't be denied. Kobe reached heights like his 81 pt. game that Jordan never did.
