We really went through it when it was announced final season was coming in December, with a timer on Twitter... and then everything changed when the fire nation attacked, and deleted that Tweet. Soon after, it was revealed that the final season would not receive a typical episodical release, but rather come out as two movies that will wrap up the battle between crows and cats.

What did you think about this announcement? Are you happy/sad? Did you expect more? From our understanding, there is still a lot of manga to adapt. Do you think two movies can do justice to the source material? Let us know in the comments!

I don’t think it’s plausible for the rest of the manga to be told in 2 movies. If anything they could probably do it in 1, 24 episode season and 2 shorter movies at least IMO. The only way I can see it as realistic is if they have an anime only ending and ignore the manga ending haha. But who knows things could work our great! Still hopeful at least 😤

Now that I have more time to think about I think they are doing the 2 movies for the Karasuno vs Nekoma then going back to seasonal with the show. It's been obvious they really care for the Trashcan Showdown so I think are upgrading to a movie budget just for the battle. My prediction: first movie is building up Nekoma then ending with epic cliffhanger after first round, then second movie epic rallies with tear jerking character development on both sides sprinkled with foreshadowing and character reveals of other teams then the deciding victor with breather. After that back to the show. This is someone who has not read the manga and jump ropes between English and Sub. I know there is a lot more content after the showdown. This is also a valued top budget show with solid talent so I don't think they will end it anytime soon till they milk everything out of the manga, unless something tragic has happened to the creators. No story spoilers please.
