When they say "4 years ago" they're referring to Season 3 but more specifically the battle with Zeke/Beast Titan and subsequent reveal in the basement. The scene with Eren on the beach was 3 years ago, then fast forward to Season 4

No, it isn't. But just purely within the spectrum of "shounen" season 4 is pretty high up there i'd say. Possibly top 10 ever. But they have to stick the landing. Doesn't have to be great, or amazing. Just solid.

Thats not really a response to my request but agree to disagree on the ending. It did alot of things i liked and one specific thing i really disliked. itd be very odd to hold that against an entire season OR SERIES based off of one aspect. Endings are hard afterall. But like I said, moreso curious what other people liked more. Maybe ill find a new anime to watch lol.

Yeah, I think AoT has fully transitioned into Seinen. Which is crazy, I don't think any anime/manga has ever made the jump from Shounen to Seinen before.
