Today we want to celebrate the life and voice acting contribution of an amazing voice actor, Kazunari Tanaka, who gave his voice to our favorite coach, Keishin Ukai.

The episode we posted today on Patreon features the last line Mr. Tanaka performed as Ukai. The episode ended with Ukai as he told us that "Volleyball is a sport where you're always looking up!" and we could not think of a more beautiful sentiment to celebrate the spirit of Haikyuu as a show, as well as Tanaka's legacy. Through his work, he uplifted moods and spirits of millions of viewers, kids and adults alike, and his performance will always be remembered with fondness.

Thank you for being with us, Mr. Kazunari Tanaka! Rest in peace.

Damn, at only 49 years of age. May he rest in peace, and what he left behind cherished.

sweet sentiment, I remember when i first heard his last line and it sent chills down my spine, I have rewatch haikyuu many times over and with the knowledge of it being the voice actors final line in this series it still makes get a chill and goosebumps. With how the line is portrayed and emotion behind it. I just think about it all the time when reminiscing about haikyuu's best moments; the shout is one of the top. I am so glad you peeps are enjoying the series.
