Subs are also translated and not 1 to 1 lol same with manga both have had and will continue to have errors or inaccuracies. Both sub and dub requires a script writer to translate for example. Also yes Nina does have trauma. It's not said in the anime but she went to the ghetto before and was attacked by a group of 11s/Japanese before this.

Subs don't have to worry about lip flaps though when translating, and also there are generally multiple sub options which increase the likelihood of a better translation.
