Jianyu?!?! 😱 I was wanting so bad for a plot twist like this to happen. I always imagined Jianyu was dieing on the inside having to listen to his soul mate talk endlessly like she has lol. Michael is so trash at his job. How do you fuck up this bad?

Ryan

I still can’t say his real name but Jianyu is my spirit animal. Go Jags!

Ryan

It’s funny, there is so much I want to say, but I for reasons unexplained I just can’t yet.

SlumberGod

Where’s that Naruto??

I love that Rana came in with the Al Jamil explanation just as the show was going to explain her name

Ryan

In many ways a painting, story or anything really can be enhanced by understanding who the artist who made it was and how it reflects who they are or were at the time of it's creation. For example Radiohead's song "Creep" written by Thom Yorke can be greatly enhanced by knowing the backstory of how it was written and who Yorke was when he wrote it. Nikki makes a good point that people change, Yorke definately has. That being said I also beleive that art should be able to stand alone, seperating the art from the artist can give you a fresh perspective on the work. In many ways the artist doesn't matter, only the end result. There are plenty of masterpieces out there that trancend their creators, that put out so much good that I don't think it matters who made it. "Harry Potter" and J.K. Rowling is a great example because dispite what the author puts out on Twitter the communities the franchise has spawned has done some amazing things. Depending on the medium it can be harder to seperate (eg. Acting), but at the end of the day I think it's up the individual and what they look for in art and what they feel comfortable with. Can you still appreciate a song, even if it's performed by an abuser, or enjoy a game dispite it being made by a bigot? Even if it's good content? Personally, I believe that sometimes good art can be just that, good fucking art. If you dig hard enough you can find something to boycott anyone. I'm not saying it's useless or pointless I'm just saying you can appreciate something without supporting the creator's beliefs or actions. This show will bring up ethical questions like this and it's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the discussions.
