90% of modern firearms are semi-automatic. Also, anyone with a single shot, pump or bolt action firearm can do immense damage offensively in gun-free zone (ie. Columbine, which happened during an "assault" weapons ban). Reload time and ammo capacity are not issues, if nobody can fight back. An attacker with a bolt action gun is just as dangerous as someone with a semi-automatic in that scenario. Further, almost all gun violence is committed with handguns, but you see the ARs on the news, so it seems like that tool is the problem. On the flip side, a single shot, pump or bolt-action weapon with low ammo capacity is completely useless in a self-defense emergency. If you are unlucky enough to face multiple armed attackers seeking to do you harm (usually bad guys are cowards and like to have number advantages), especially if they are on uppers, you NEED a high capacity semi-automatic weapon to stand a chance to survive. Also, a woman with a firearm gets to feel as safe as a man anywhere she wants to go. A Glock 19 in your purse or AR-15 by your bed is the best rape-stopper there is. It is anti-feminist to support strict gun control. Imagine if a group of large armed men kicked in Hailey's door when it was just her and her children home? That AR keeps your kids alive. This actually happens pretty often but never gets reported in major media outlets. Also, automatic guns are legal, but the process to get one is long, expensive and involves a lot of background checks as well as being registered with the government. Finally, I voted for Biden out of Trump hate, but he and his new ATF czar have repeatedly and expressly stated they want to introduce mandatory buy backs and confiscations. Just this week, the ATF announced new rules that will make millions of Americans felons over night for owning AR pistols that have been legal for several years. They are not even elected officials with responsibility to the tax payers, just bureaucrats with no oversight that can do whatever they want. The issue is far more nuanced than "Why do you need scary looking guns that I don't understand. Just ban them." Black people got to start voting during civil rights protected by their women carrying Winchester repeating rifles, the AR-15 of their day. Look it up. Killer Mike's interview with Colion Noir is a good place to start. Disarmed citizens have no actual rights because they can't protect them. P.S. I am a progressive liberal immigrant, incase anyone wants to try and paint me as some inbred, racist, trailer trash. Caring about civil liberties shouldn't be a partisan issue.

All I see is a wall of unsupported opinions stated as fact. This is most likely due to propaganda by the NRA. All of your supposed examples of solutions are all about never accepting root causes of problem, but instead try to adhere to conservatism and the status quo, trying to fight the symptoms of a deeper disease, without wanting to try policies to prevent the root causes.
