C'mon guys it's only the first set, y'all ready to tap out already lol Oikawa schoolin' the Normies bad lmao

Rishi Shukla

The brilliance of Oikawa is coming out.

Bob

Oikawa was the peak of haiykuuu

I get what you guys mean by "overtime", but Volleyball is a points game like Tennis. And for this tournament is to 25 and best out of 3 sets.

Tina L

It's so funny to me how the Normies appeared to forget volleyball rules, and all because of the "distraction" that focusing on Oikawa brings in this episode. A story is not good/entertaining when the "villain" isn't compelling. There are many words to describe Oikawa, and compelling is definitely one of them! Next up, it's Suga's time to shine!

Infinite Ree

Sugaaaaaaaa!!!! 🥰

lhh

oikawa volleyball IQ is 👌🏼✨ ha i don’t care how he boosts his team moral; it works and they still respect and trust him!

Alex cleveland

Oh god, pls don't start Suraj and Rana with those cringe ass ships that weird Haikyuu fans make with fucking Hinata and Kageyama.🤮Dont even bring up that weird shit. Legit, they in High school, and they aint even gay lmfao. Thats why I cant stand those MHA and Haikyuu weirdos lol.

Alex cleveland

Lowkey, Oikawa posterize this man Kageyama with that Joust they did. Mans looked at him like "you will always be my underling" lol. 🔥

jmv213

I’m not even a shipper and you just being homophobic for no reason

Alex cleveland

@jmv213 u don't even know me lol. I promise u I'm the last thing of being homophobic. I have gay friends but ok. U just don't know the community like that. Go do ur research on these type of weird things. All im saying is its weird to ship high school boys who aint even gay. Is it not weird??

Alex cleveland

@MojoJojoGojo Im just bringing it up that its a weird thing that ppl do. Its so random and the fandom takes things to a weird approach. Like can they just be really good friends lol. All im saying is I see everyone as really good bros and pals. I just wanted to point out the nonsense of shipping young boys who r underage; they r just playing a team sport volleyball, so why does ppl talk about this stuff? Just curious and dont understand it.

Oof. Saying that Oikawa's strategy or 'scheming' didn't work is incorrect. Yes, Tanaka overcame the building pressure Oikawa's serves were putting on him, but that's a credit to Tanaka's amazing resilience, not a criticism of Oikawa's tactics. Had it been just about anyone other than our favorite bald knucklehead, it would have worked. Just look at Dateko's Iron Wall destroying Asahi's confidence before the season as a prime example that this sort of tactic does not happen in a vacuum. Not to mention, he still got three or four points off of Tanaka, which is clearly a sign of success. Oikawa had a sound strategy and executed as best as he could. Likewise with his serves forcing the opposition to retaliate the way he wants them to, bottlenecking them, taking their setter away. As does getting inside of Kageyama's head. As does hyping his own team up with trash talk. All of this, ALL of it, is to serve HIS TEAM. Oikawa is a madman thinker and beyond that, he's a team player, and no one in this whole match on either side is doing as much for their team. It's made apparent when he all but leads the team huddles as opposed to the coach, because the Aoba Johsai coach acknowledges that Oikawa (usually, if not always) has the right things to say (as a smart captain should). Oikawa's inferiority complex is incredibly reminiscent of Bakugo in that they are both so incredibly talented and amazing, but deep down they don't really see that in themselves. They fear they aren't as good as others think they are or as their opposition is. Thus they froth at the mouth and work until they bleed to BE the best that they can be.

As a side note, I am loving these reactions. Every single one of the crew needs to be here every episode because you guys have amazing chemistry and your enjoyment of the show is infectious. I hope for only good things with you guys. And Dustin! No one else has pointed it out yet, but these are the best Haikyuu edits I've seen. You manage to pack in so many scenes/reactions to one episode with your edits, I can't imagine how stressful it must be, especially during these final episodes flushed with great moments. Kudos to you, sir.

The Normies Staff

hey thanks, fam. Just doing my best to show off how much we love this show and why. Thanks for the kind words and the continued support! -Dustin the Editor.

(Points to myself) MHA and Haikyuu!!! "Weirdo" here. I get it. I really do. I'm pretty sure your queer friends have already informed you, but us yaoi shippers can be a bit much. It's just fun and adorable to imagine these friendships and partnerships stepping into the arena of romance. I know it's not canon. And if you don't like it all that means is it's not for you. I defy you to find popular media set in high school where there isn't romance in it. Even when that isn't the main focus of the media. Most of the time the canon couples are Hetero. There aren't many queer characters let alone queer couples so those of us in the Rainbow Mafia gotta make up our own. And usually friends and/or antagonists tend to be the same gender as the protagonist so that's who we will ship. Can shippers be weird and scary and BAD? Yes, absolutely. But it can also fun, cathartic, and helps people deal with their issues, used for good as it were. There are few safe spaces for us queers and fandom is often one of them. If it's not appealing to you, then you know it's not for you. When the Normies brought it up, it made me smile to hear how accepting, if not interested, in that side of the fandom. If they wanted to know more I would be here for it. But if they never talk about it again I wouldn't be the least bit upset. To anyone who made it this far in my rant, thank you. And I appreciate your willingness to read what I had to say. I hope you have as wonderful a day as you can manage!

Max

Can you go 1 entire week without posting something dumb Alex?

Sergio

Btw can y’all do double reaction for the rest of the season because this game is so long! Trust me it’ll feel a lot better.

Sergio

Owikawa is not to be messed with trust! Especially next season!

Jake Thompson

Some people are just so desperate to have a villain LOL.

jmv213

Okay first of all saying you have gay friends doesn’t mean you can’t be homophobic lol that’s like prejudice 101 also, if you really just don’t like shippers then you have to keep that same energy when people ship a guy and girl in anime

Alex cleveland

@jmv213 Tbh I feel u on the prejudice 101 comment lol. I see those type of comments too lol. But overall, ur missing the point buddy. There is NO HINTS of love in the air lol. Ppl forcefully shipping two young boys together when u actually see the opposite of "love" is weird. Understand this, there's a difference between seeing a ship with a male and female to a gay or lesbian ship. No one is born gay, right!? So me keeping the same energy when I see people ship a girl and guy would be a "DIFFERENT APPROACH." Plus is the scenario of the the ship actual "signs" of feelings because I don't see a shipping scenario with Hinata and Kageyama. As I said this in my previous comment. Plus don't read between the lines buddy, I am not homophobic just because I said the shipping of two individual boys is weird, Im saying that there's NO SIGN of them being in love or having feelings for each other. Ur forceful psuhing their sexuallity. Like I said no one is born gay, same as a murder is not born as a murder. Understand that psychologically buddy. Thats why there are saying like "coming out of the closet." 😐

Alex cleveland

@Mo ur a lil ass scary individual who still hasnt hit me up on discord. Talk to me on there buddy if u cant say something smart to counterargument me. I legit dont take u seriously anymore when I see ur comments. Like leave me alone, stop responding to me, and go do something else lol

jmv213

Bruh how’d you go from I’m not homophobic to no one is born gay lmao you could’ve clarified but then you just dug the hole further, this is pointless

Alex cleveland

@Tina L I appreciate ur comment fr fr. I kinda understand what ur saying about Yaoi shippers now, and why they are so eager to see the BL or WL scenes. They aren't really common, which is understandable. Now I kinda understand the approach to fanfictions. Thank u for informing me on that type of stuff that Im not really familiar with (Obviously lol). Love ur comment. Really respectful and mines was kinda aggressive or passive aggressive lol. Also happy pride month🤍

Alex cleveland

@jmv213 look up the term "homophobic" and give me the direct definition..... Also ppl aren't born gay. Its a choice..... Thats the point guy smh

Infinite Ree

They really should. It feels so spaced out when we know 1 set can take multiple episodes.

Shockzz1234

Personally, the only shippers i hate are the ones who ship so hard that if the character ends up being with someone else canonically, they lose their fucking minds. Like i've legit seen people on twitter (yeah its the worst social media platform out there, but still) say that an entire series was ruined because their made-up ship didn't end up sailing. Another person i saw started verbally attacking and insulting someone else hardcore because they disagreed with their ships . And so on. That shit is dumb as fuck and those people are morons. But casual ships? That's completely fine.

HeavenlyR

Yeah I feel like the show is going out of its way to show Oikawa as the ultimate team player and they're just like "Wow, what a selfish piece of shit"

Alex cleveland

@Shockzz1234 I also completely agree on that too. Thats what some of the MHA fans did to the author by threatening him to make these ships canon. thats y I always looked at ships like Hinata and Kageyama or Deku and Kacchan very hostile cause of those situations that happened on twitter.

Tina L

Thank you, Alex. I was worried my comment may have sounded more preachy than helpful, but I'd rather risk sounding preachy instead of remaining quiet about something that could be explained in a respectful way. That said, stating how queerness is not a born trait is hurtful. Continuing that lie makes it sound like being queer is a choice, one that can and has ruined families and friendships, job security, monetary security, mental health declining, and even end someone's life. It rings of victim-blaming and homophobia. I don't think that was your intention. So, please, by all means, make your point about how fictional characters are not queer in their original sources. Those can be used as facts (at least, until the originators of those sources state otherwise.) But if you'd like to, try not to unintentionally spread homophobic rhetoric. Thank you, friend. Happy Pride!

Tina L

@Shockzz1234 I'll never understand shipping wars. Like how can there be a superior ship in fandom? There can definitely be a more popular ship in a fandom, but that doesn't mean it's superior to the others. It just means it is the most sought out. There's room for everyone (even if we don't like it. XD ) I would go into how queer baiting and queer coding can really throw fandom into chaos, but I am exhausted even thinking about what to type to explain THAT lol. I will say that it is disappointing and hurtful when the crews and production teams engage with the fandom making promises only to back out or gaslight us once it's over. I will also say that if the crews and production team were just as excited but overruled by higher-ups I will cut those people some slack. Resprentsation matters, and sometimes fandoms take those matters into their own hands. For better or worse.

Tina L

Just to clarify, I don't stand for bullying creators, production staff, or other fans about shipping!

Tina L

It's equally entertaining and frustrating. Just think, if they ever come around on him it will be even sweeter!

Alex cleveland

@Tina L nah, I didnt mean any ill will towards me saying "being gay or queer is a choice." Sorry, I just see it as that way. Ofc in the most respectable way of saying that. Its like the Dwyane Wade's son situation, if u know about that story. My take on certain situations with young kids or even babies is let them fully reach the understanding of their own sexuality. If I had a boy, lets face it, ima automatically assume he is gonna like the opposite sex. Is that wrong to think that way tho?! I don't think so, but maybe it is during this day and age lol. However, if my son turns ..... 7 and he comes out and says he may likes his own sex, then Ill be completely fine with it. I would fully support him in anyway. Thats just my take. Ofc not everyone thinks that way, but me thinking that way isn't prejudice or being homophobic. Ik a lot ppl that think that way, and I would never consider them being prejudice from the start. I would only think of it being homophobic if they have a problem with their own son or daughter coming out and saying they are homo. I hope i didnt misinterpret ur msg towards me.

Tina L

@Alex Thank you for clarifying your viewpoint. It demonstrates how even though we come from different "corners" of fandom we can still engage in discourse and come to an understanding without the use of "typical Internet" language. We don't have to "win" an argument for our point to be made. I mean good luck if that's a goal, lol. I just think it's pretty neat you were open to not only see my side of things but actively comment back to help me see your side. I like to believe I do. Besides, it's our love of anime and our enjoyment of The Normies reaction to it, and the community which surrounds them that allowed us to even meet in the first place. How cool is that? I hope if we encounter each other again we will continue similarly. Sorry if this sounds oddly formal, I've been typing up work emails and I tired lol Basically: You're dope. I'm dope. Plus Ultra. Nice Kill! Goodnight

lhh

seijoh is my fav team! wished there was a spin off on them. the short ova and cd drama made me love them even more 💕

Elijah Sterling

I’m trying to figure out what’s the point of this comment? To completely take away from what the show will tell them ? Like ok we get it you watched all 4 seasons and watched 3 separate channels reactions. LET THEM FIND OUT FOR THEMSELVES STOP TELLING THEM CHARACTERS MOTIVATIONS.

sam

oikawa is the kind of character that a lot of people either hate or love because honestly he's not the "villain" of this show and it shows more later on imo, it's more that he's really competitive and confident in himself/team which is seen a lot in sports in real life lol
