This episode was one of the best 😁😁😁😁

Tina L

What a ride! Sad it's over, but glad it happened!

Burntberries

I kinda hope they do watch the movie. I'm curious to see what they think about it.

Elle B.

What a fantastic finale. Some of the best dub voice acting I’ve seen. Well Normies, it’s been interesting.

Light was booted off the airship

Jared

I can never get enough of Light fan girls being upset with how his story ends. YOU MEAN THE CHILD PLAYING GOD TURNED INTO A CHILD AT THE END NO WAY . It literally blows my mind how even until the end they still fucking care for light LIKE FUCKING HOW??!?!?!??! Nahid just said that its sad that Light isnt going to heaven or hell? HOW IS THAT SAD ???? I've said it before but there is a serious disconnect and problem with anyone who not only supports Light Yagami BUT AT THE END OF THE STORY FEELS BAD FOR HIM AFTER EVERYTHING HE DID.

Anonymous

Fun fact: They did make a manga one-shot "sequel" that tells a story that takes place 10 years or so after Light's death, where Ryuk gives the notebook to a new person. It also explores how the world changed because/since Kira made his mark on it. This one-shot is weirdly both great and bad at the same time in my opinion, but can't really talk about it without spoiling it.

Max

Would it kill you to be positive once in a while?

MojoJojoGojo

The double deuce you love to see 😏

Crystalrose

Yes!!! A very satisfying ending to a legendary anime imo.. i'm glad you guys enjoyed it and reacted to this series 🤩

Alex cleveland

I think the reason why Light got caught is because he killed L. He lost his touch when it comes to being sneaky and being five steps ahead when L was chasing him down. He hasn't had no competition for years since hes killed L, and L has been keeping Light on his toes and on his A game everyday when he was killing people. If he didn't kill L, I feel like Light would've definitely created his "New World," but ended up being too cocky and reckless because he killed the best detective ever (which is L). And yes, he got too big headed and thought that no can ever catch him since hes been doing his Kira justice for several years without any road blocks. RIP Light and Misa tho in the EP finale!😶 Great anime nonetheless. In my top 15 of anime!

Jjop017

Unpopular opinion, but I prefer the way the manga handled Light’s death over the anime. The anime still had a good finale though. The manga did explore a little of what happened after the fall of Kira. You guys might want to check it out.

Queef Burglar

Whats next after Death Note? I hope one piece 🤣

MojoJojoGojo

I like to assume they told his mom and sister that Light died catching Kira because telling them that your son/brother was the criminal your husband/father died trying to find that's fcked ..to Marketta I'm straight lying to that family sorry 😂 . Fun fact: they actually didn't make it public that Kira was caught they just let the world go back to normal. Society just thought that Kira was taking a break, and ppl would go to Kira shrines hoping for his return

Solebat

Someone tell the crew how to watch the OVA's.

Gabriel Arreaga

Light didn't do anything wrong it's a show it's like you trying to make people who love a villain actually have problem irl

Max

Yeah that's definitely not why he got caught....

Mr. Toastman

Wow, double drop even though it's basically the end of the month? Thanks!

Benjamin Donahue

To answer one question asked in your discussion, it was actually answered earlier in the show. If the conditions of the persons death are impossible they will simply die of a heart attack, and the same is true in scenarios involving information the victim has no knowledge of. HOWEVER it does stand to reason that you could have someone cure cancer if the potential path to doing so exists in their life i.e not being incarcerated, having access to the resources for R&D, potential for generating the funds to do it. As for Misa while Near does know that she was the second Kira originally, he actually may not have proof against her like Light. In court he can only prove that Mikami is the second Kira based off of note book entries, and she herself has no memory of it anymore (unless she touches a Death Note again). The book Misa used may have been taken back by that poindexter sounding Shinigami and I don't really know how many (if any) entries she made in the other books. This is largely influenced by the game of musical ownership they play in this series. As far as total note books though a total of 4 were in the human realm. 1x in possession of Ryuk (This book never changes ownership) 1x dropped by Ryuk (originally found by Light and I THINK taken back to Shinigami Realm / Since it's specified Ryuk has his notebook but never really says they can tell them apart) 1x in possesion of Rem (claimed by Light after Rem dies) 1x given to Misa by Rem I have no idea which one of these ended up where by the end. There's probably lists and videos about it but I don't care enough to look it up lol. Lastly, I don't know if it's ever said that Misa jumps or not but I do realize if she didn't she could potentially live for centuries since she has received and halved the unspecified life span of 2 Shinigamis

Omar Bautista

Sadly its confirmed that Misa did die the following valentines day because was so in love with Light that she could not go through another year

Jinskii

They should watch Death Parade.

Jules Eris

All right everyone you know the drill... REACT TO CODE GEASS!!!

Kamina 1

Lights end was absolutely PERFECTION. Couldn't have happened to a shittier human being. Poor Pat. It finally hit him in the final hour 🤣

Kamina 1

Now that Death Note is over, i think it's finally time you guys binge through Gurren Lagann. It's time Normies.... It's time.

anixxander

Guys should watch castlevenia on Netflix or Trigun!

KP

Yeah a person who stopped all wars and brought the world crime rate down by 70% is a shitty person.... Tell that to the crime victims and victims of war. 100% if your family was murdered and light killed the killers he would be your #1 fan lets be honest. What Light did was for the greater good of the world.

Kenan

Loved it, but hated how it ended. You're right, can't say anything else without spoiling, but i recommend they all give it a read. Would take them no more than 20 minutes and it's a good read

Kenan

Thank you for the double drop to end the series off 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I’m impressed by N and his team but it gets me a little agitated that light lost due to somebody else’s slip up.

IKIGAI

love this story. amazing writing. dope concept. Lights characters descent into madness and power is so well realized through the first ep to the last. Are the comments already here about light dying halfway on the staircase yet? lol

IKIGAI

question: do you think light would have ultimately become as sick minded as he did if the notebook never fell on him?

godUsoland

Now read the one-shot sequel manga: Death Note: a-Kira Story Takes place 10 years after Light's death

Sean Mumford

I think Light had sociopathic tendencies, but living a normal life they'd probably never had the opportunity to manifest - in normal life, you would almost never have the means to kill someone consequence free. But with the power of the notebook, all of those tendencies were given the freedom to flourish and corrupt him.

Finally! Pat looked like he did NOT enjoy this episode. He lost respect for Light NOW because of his ego, but I've been losing respect for Pat as the series progressed. Not because he was Team Light. I was Team Light. But because of the mental gymnastics he pulled to justify the actions Light took to create his "better world" and how he'd applied that attitude to real life scenarios that Chris and the others would present him with. It gave us insight into how he views these issues in real life, and its honestly very concerning. To him, a starving child who steals food to survive is just a thief who deserves the highest punishment because "stealing is a crime". But he doesnt seem all too concerned about the broken systems or greedy people that create these broken homes that lead to starving children. That tells me that I couldnt depend on him to be part of any real life solutions to better the world because he'd just justify every shitty circumstance. But c'mon. Man's basically said if we took out Kim Jung, that would solve the problem with North Korea. When presented with the idea that SOME of his followers would just carry on his legacy, he legitimately said to just take them ALL out.... never even considering that some are there just out of fear, or because they do not know any better... as if defectors arent a thing. Like, bro. Anyway. Do not watch the Netflix film. Instead, watch the live action Japanese films if you really want more Death Note, AND watch the Death Note: Rebirth animated film which is basically a retelling of the first half of the season with L. Its like a recap from Ryuk's perspective. Also also, there was a one-shot sequel series in the Manga. Just released like a year or two ago. Takes place maybe a decade later. Definitely give that a read. It touches on some of the questions who guys had about the world's governments wanting the death note. Also also Easter Egg: In the original Death Note pilot Manga, a character that looked a lot like Mikami was the main character. Give that a read. Some interesting concepts that were introduced. Most made it to the official story with Light, other ideas were scraped.

KimKaiRen

Please don't watch the Netflix special. That shit was a trainwreck.

2021-07-17 03:27:52 I'm back a almost week later to bring up some explainations amongst the normies especially Pat cause I wouldn't want this series going unsaid since we don't podcast anymore: But Light was a normal kid in 4D chess with L, PAT HE'S ALWAYS BEEN COCKY. Listen to this every since he challenged L & L challenged him back...as a genius 18yrs old he was still a regular person...Ls downfall was that he challenged him and lost with gods of death knowledge he couldn't do anything about (Kira even said when he became the new L that he didn't wanna challenge "Kira" like L did and put his life on the line to the rest of the task force) But inevitably he did the same thing when going up against N and N CALLED HIM OUT ON IT HIMSELF saying "it's a coincidence that right as L(Light) called the SPK out...the studio they had got attacked by forces of Kira. That gave Near the edge and evidence he needed... And at the very end of the day Chris statements made sense "People with that much power no matter how noble they think their goals are SHOULD NOT HAVE THAT power" Light Yagami was a normal person with power thinking he did right... And challenged someone who KNOWS his predecessor died...challenging him. Hope that made sense... Oh and Mikami screwed Light 😂😭
