Neji is not in the village in this episode or previous episode they were with team Gai outside the village. There was a random Hyuga playing cards at the beginning of the Pain arc. You can tell is not Neji because he is wearing a default shinobi outfit.

Have nothing against the way female Pain sounds. Have you heard Pain yell at this point? In my experience, those who are talking calmly, no spitting or goofy giggles (hi Orochi) are the scariest kind.

The Nine Tail's name was supposed to be a massive reveal down the line for reasons that will be explained when the reveal actually happens. I have no idea why the person who did the subtitles in that OG Naruto episode thought it was a good idea to spoil it like that. Imagine if the "you will know Pain" comments started way back in OG Naruto. Or if people started saying RiP Jiraiya, back when he was first introduced.

You'll probably figure this out by the time you read this, but just in case...at this point only the female Pain and the autopsy Pain were shown performing any sort of summoning. The autopsy Pain Jiraiya took down was the one Pain started the fight against Jiraiya with, bringing out all the summons against Jiraiya's ungraceful friend. The "main Pain" didn't join the fight against Jiraiya until all Six Paths were revealed. And when the autopsy Pain was killed, the female's corpse was activated as the new Path to replace the dead one and now has the summoning powers. When Pain was outside the village, he launched the female Pain specifically through the sensor barrier because she was the summoner Pain, and she was the one who summoned the other Six Paths into the village. Just for clarification 👍

So I want to say when a power vacuum happens it is not always the next in line that becomes the strongest. Honestly the majority of the time it's a scramble for power. The leaf or land of fire if you prefer assets still exist Whatever nation gets the most of that and gains most in the inevitable war over those assets will be the strongest.
