The reverse shots in the opening of the episode gave me such chills - honestly sometimes this show is too good!!

This is probably tied as one of my favorite episodes of the series. While we’ve already seen how amazing all of the actors are in this show, (Jonas kills it in this episode as well, but that’s no surprise as he is always great) I am really glad we got a chance to see more of the older Mikkel/Michael and the anxieties he had been faced with his whole life before his suicide in the opening scene of the series. And the actor did a great job of expressing all of the confusion, paranoia, and terror he would have been feeling in this moments. I am also glad we got to see some happy/peaceful moments with the family before everything went down - I was surprised at how even Hannah seemed genuine towards Michael.

I also loved seeing the kids in their natural element at the lake and the adults at their party before their lives all changed. I almost forgot that they would have all just been normal groups of friends before the disappearances. I like finally seeing what happened between Marta and Jonas before he went away before the start of season 1 and how it was actually the traveling Jonas that influenced this.

We also see how Jonas and Marta found the St. Christopher’s necklace that has been featured throughout the season. Interesting to me that Marta already knew he was the patron saint of travelers but didn’t mention how. The follow the path so far... they find they necklace together on the beach, Marta takes it home and adds it to the string, Jonas carries it from that moment until he is the middle age Jonas that leaves it on Marta’s bed.

We need to start thinking about the next show yall 😂😂

Haven’t started it yet but the same company that produced Dark just dropped another sci-fi show on Netflix this past weekend called Tribes of Europa. I have also had the show Equinox described to me as a Scandinavian Dark although I have not had the time to watch it myself yet. And while we won’t be seeing it for at least a year, I am already super hyped for 1899 - which is the next show by the creators of Dark and will feature the same composer!!

I love how you all sound like mad scientists in the post discussion at this point, rofl

Rana is always right. Go with wibbly wobbly instinct

Mimi Kannisto

I absolutely love this episode. How they allow us to see everything again but from the first episode and show us how everything is connected and why. Yet like you said as Dark always does. Everytime they answer questions it leads to many more questions. Which is the frustration of Dark. Welcome to the party! Lol

I think Nicky is going to lose her mind on the Season 2 finale

Guys start using the Dark official guide again. Especially after the end of season 2. https://dark.netflix.io/en

wait if were on patreon where is season 3? I believe they said it's there on patreon already :o? Maybe I misunderstood

Dooly

Rana’s on the right track

This is the furthest episode on their Patreon for Dark. They may have said something like being 3 episodes ahead and you misunderstood

It would be funny and interesting to watch if after you finish season 3 you go back and react again to episode 1! To see everything you missed the first time you watched it

codenamewitch xx

This would be amazing. I actually think my second experience watching was better because of being able to pick up on all of those things you would never have realized first time around. This episode actually has a really good example of literally throwing in our faces something that seems unimportant now but will have a different meaning next season....

These after episodes discussions are hilarious 😂😂😂 . So glad you guys picked up this series .

This episode broke my heart first time watching, when Jonas and Martha are on the beach. Because regardless of the family tree, the actors do such a great job of portraying just how much each of them means to the other. Seeing hanged Jonas tell Martha that stuff and then walking away thinking he would never see her again is painful.

Insane to think that the Jonas we've been following up to this point is inevitably going to become Adam, and every attempt he is going to make is going to fail and bring him closer and closer to that end. At this point in the show, it just makes me want to follow 30 something year old Jonas instead of the younger one. I'm sure Rana would disagree though since he's "zaddy" lmao

Darryl Lowe

When you travel to the past you ultimately create another timeline. You're not traveling in your past, but someone else's I believe.

Great reaction to a truly powerful episode! I demand you all make a slide show for us of your notes, episode by episode, to see your progression into madness!

Julian

Damn, y'all are so confused sometimes.. I don't know how you're gonna make it through the next 2 episodes and Season 3 without completely losing it :D

The St. Christopher necklace, and the route it took to end up on the beach, blew my mind 👍

Nicky, you were right, the conversation Ulrich and Hannah have on the swings is the same they have as teens when they're sitting at the bus stop and the power goes out. Its repeated by Ulrich as sort of a flirty callback

A L

My favorite thing about this episode is how neither Martha or Jonas had their first kiss together.

Arindrajit Sen

Well Mikkel could've just seen the letter Jonas gave and copied it into a new piece of paper. He didn't need to have to memorize it.
