Ohhhhhh man! Now we're in the good part of this series 😏😏😏😏

Pretty sure there was a school shooting a while back where there was a Cop that left the school for fear of getting shot. Might have just been an armed security guard but it was a huge deal then.

Gabriel Moreira

If you guys like the intro, you should hear more of this band Maximum the Hornone. Those guys where DOOOOPE One of my favorites

That new OP no matter the moment blows up in your face of HYPE

Chris spitting factual statements. When have you ever seen a cop physically defend someone? Plus cops are usually called after a crime anyways lmao. Cops give tickets and ask questions. No disrespect to cops but the rest of the crew is wild

Ghost_Troupe

You haven't seen cops physically defend people? You mean, when cops are the first on the scene of a mass shooting to deal with the heavily armed shooter? Or when the cops were all involved in the rescue mission during 9/11? I mean...cops quite literally physically defend people all the time. It just goes unreported. Also, cops can't legally do anything until the crime is committed or is in the process of being committed. If you want a perfect example of how important cops are, look at New York and Chicago right now, crime rate is through the roof, and police presence is down.

I haven't thought about L having diabetes and it makes sense now.

Every week I am so happy that Death Note is a reaction. The reaction and especially the post-reaction discussion is always interesting and fun to watch. Is there any word on their reaction to the new ending?

Andy C

I'd say that one of the main conflicts of Death Note is the idea of whether Justice should be Proactive vs. the idea of Justice being Reactive. I'm sure people are aware that both ideas have merit and have horrifying consequences if either is taken too far, and in an ideal world justice has aspects of proactive and reactive. If one decides to become extremely proactive in stopping crime (like Kira), one risks inadvertently creating a police state or a situation where some authority blatantly disregards human rights to prevent crime, and for everyone toeing the line or face punishment. Meanwhile if one prefers justice to be reactive in order to protect people's rights, you get called out for supposedly "letting crime happen".

Y’all the new outro is heat too don’t forget to react to that👀🔥🔥🔥

Rewatching this with the Normies is reminding me how much I love L and Misa. L is so lovably goofy and Misa is 100% a ride or die.

MrSkarred

The band who sings the intro song is called "Maximum the hormone" the song is called "What's up people"

Michael Diaz

Everyone makes it sound really bad like L's sacrificing people for the investigation. But I don't think that's the case. You can't get anyone on a crime they didn't commit. You can't get these guys on past murders because there's no proof. So you have to catch them in the act. If you're gonna start talking about the sacrifices they have to make for the investigation, then perhaps talk about how L is certain that Light is Kira and everyone is certain the Yotsuba group are the new Kira but L has yet to assassinate Light and they've all yet to assassinate the Yotsuba group. Those things would prevent all of this from going any further. Oh wait. You can't. Because the law. L is already bending the rules to do what he's doing. I don't think he WANTS to absolutely just trash the law and morals.

Knee

I don't like the new intro tbh

I love this show (and your reactions) for the interesting questions it brings up about philosophy, justice and human nature. It seemed like the majority of the couch was, in this context, in favour of the principle of the ends justify the means (sacrificing victims to definitively catch Kira). If you follow this line of thinking, then why can Kira's original goal (kill criminals and deter crime to create a "safer" society) be considered as less moral? I think both of these perspectives are two sides of the same coin.
