If you liked re:zero try reacting to redo of healer. It’s a wholesome anime about a hero who fights against racism and corruption within the kingdom. A man like Subaru who has undergone hardships and abuse but triumphs against his enemies.

No offense to the voice actors doing the dub but it's so much worse lol. I respect their attempt but the emotion and timing isn't there. Petelguese in particular did not even get close to the feel of the Japanese VA. The English VA's were given bad direction or something, I don't know who in production allowed it to happen. I couldn't bear to finish watching the reaction a few minutes into the dub so I'm just seeing people say that the rest of the series is gonna be a dub reaction. I'm dipping out if that's the case. As far as I'm concerned no reaction is better than a dubbed reaction for this series. And I'm not even a "sub only anime purist". Kill la Kill, Madoka Magica, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hellsing Ultimate, and a lot of other anime do a better English Dub than Japanese VA. It's just the lack of emotion and good acting on the Re:Zero dub is criminal compared to the Japanese VA.

The one episode I've been waiting for, but it is Dubbed :( No hate for the Dub, just this episode in Subbed blows the English dub far away. The voice actors nailed it for this episode.

i mean you guys can’t get mad at the normies for switching to the dub because you will miss a lot of things if you are reacting AND watching it in sub, so i rather them watch it and dub and know whats going on, then them watching it and sub and missing important things to the plot.

Marketa (sorry if I butchered that spelling), was the one that got the point of the way that this scene/episode was handled. It's a psychological horror/character drama show, not a shonen. If there is an emotional climax or dialogue-heavy moment the show will focus solely on that because it's the focus of the characters. Yes they could have conveyed what they were feeling with analogy or "smarter" dialogue, but the characters themselves don't speak like that and wouldn't be getting to point across to each other. In other words the scene was meant so that the two could convey to each other how they felt in a raw way, as opposed to catering to how the audience may or may not feel.

Personally I loved this ep sm maybe its cos I watched this first when I was younger and was more sappy but this ep spoke to me as much as it spoke to Subaru and when I wasn't at my best I wished someone talked to me like rem talked to Subaru glad Marketa enjoyed it and igu guys that thought it was to much talking though and there is some fight scenes coming up so hold on. P.s if yall watched Re:Zero and liked it you guys if u haven't already should def watch Clannad u wont regret it.

Disappointed on nahid in this one, I get why his favorite anime is probably dbz. doesnt appreaciate dialogue and just want to see some action maybe. well its his opinion so its fine and I think he would appreciate it more when the dialogue is delivered better in subbed version. And why the hell is micky saying he dealt what subaru has been dealing with? huh stop lol

Wow..devoted sub watchers don't want to watch the reaction because they've switched to dub... At least they take the time and commitment to react to this. And as a Sub watcher and the one who requested the first episode back in last February and wanted it to be in Sub. I at least appreciate that fact that they are reacting to it, regardless on which version they are watching it on. I felt joyful when I heard that there were reacting to it. Plus it was announced on my birthday too, which was another added bonus. Anyways...I knew what Nahid's impression's was going to be from hearing it on his Demon Souls livestream. It's very understandable to feel this way Nahid. This episode blew up the anime net when it first aired and was received by various of emotions, positive and negative and in between. A whole community was built which were known as the Emilia and Rem Wars. As funny and painful as it is that Rem got friendzoned here, you have to realize that she knew it would happen. She knew Subaru well enough at this point to know he loves Emilia, and Rems confession didnt change that. As Rem said. If Subaru was really genuine and happy about the proposal of running away with her, then she'll would have. Even if Subaru did run away, he'll still live in guilt and regret on leaving Emilia and the rest behind to their fate. Another point is that Rem doesn't just love the Subaru who doesn't give up. But she also loves the Subaru who loves Emilia. The Re:Zero What If: Sloth, Side Story, tells exactly what happens if Subaru did run away with Rem. They'll have lived happily together, but when Subaru had died at old age, his Return by Death would be cruel to him to return him back to the Appa Stand. So either way he'll still suffer no matter if he did run away with Rem or not. This episode wasn't about setting up their relationship, but about digging Subaru out of the lowest point he'd ever been in. By the way. This officially marks the end of the prologue. Hence the From Zero, title.

I wonder if Nahid will hold on to his disappointment with Subaru once Emilia is more fleshed out as a character and her backstory is presented. I know I somewhat felt the same way but by the second d season I think there is definitely much more to Subaru and Emilia's relationship. Ironically it was the women in this reaction who could at least respect that Subaru was honest with his feelings and choosing Rem sadly would have accomplished nothing for him as a character (as sad as it may be). It was just a tough decision to make. I'll still stick around for the dub of these episodes, I've watched plenty of subbed reactions so it might not hurt to give it a try. Funny how the Japanese language sound more normal that English though lol.

Tbh i don't mind it when reactors switch from sub to dub or vice versa. Once. Usually because they do it early in the series as well. But switching once and then switching AGAIN is a bit annoying. Especially since majority of the series has already been done subbed. Anyway, like another comment said, this is where i peace out of these reactions. Looking forward to whatever's next!

This episode was controversial it cause an uproar in the Anime community lmao most people at this point would choose rem, her actually dying for him multiple times, then this speech of her uplifting and confessing to him but he still choose Emilia broke the internet. Anyways this show is multigenre and sort of have multiple plots happening, Which is why it hard to get an understanding early on, thus far it's 1. Psychological character study of Sabru 2. Horror as you this show gets very dark 3. Romance/drama it's base of a light novel which most have strong romance 4. Action/Adventure it's an isekai the show does have good fight scenes but obliviously that's not only selling point.

I respect both the sub and dub viewers of anime, but both are completely different experiences considering it’s different voice actors. I understand wanting to watch the dub over sub but I watched this only because they were doing the sub... disappointed asf to switch at this point but if it helps y’all understand I get it

I literally only watch sub if there no dub, if there English dub there no point of watching it sub. Watching sub is not only juggling between reading and watching the scene, but watching sub you miss the context and refences of things that don't culturally translate to English sub. Their maybe a joke but Japanese wordplay doesn't translate to sub. So you the missed the rhyme scheme, Alliteration, metaphors, Homophones etc in Japanese and your just reading it in English sub, you missed the significance of it. In Dub this would be reworked to translate into English wordplay, for example lets say a word was mispronounce in Japanese. In sub your not getting the significance of "how" it was mispronounce and what it sound like or mean. I seriously believe some people who watch sub only may think it makes them closer to being Japanese. As pretending to be Japanese make them feel more like an Anime elitist. So they just like hearing the sound of Japanese speaking regardless that it takes context away. lol Anyway I'm fine with Sub or dub,

I'm of two minds on the whole Naruto Debate. On the one hand, I do think If you're paying for premium subscription, one of the perks should be you get your content first. Today is a good example of why despite watching a lot of anime, I will never consider myself part of the fandom. Yall goobers (edit: Commentors. On reread this could have seemed like I was talking bout the normies) need jobs. Or more demanding jobs. You clearly have too much energy leftover to get so uppity about dumb crap. You make it almost feel off topic to comment on the actual topic through all your prepubescent (literal or forced) rage. As for said actual topic, I get Nahid's frustration and mostly don't judge him for it ("saying how it is" is a cheap excuse for impatience or carelessness... kinda without exception). It is indeed long winded. But its also the point. If it didn't take this long, if it wasn't this repetitive, it would feel so cheap. If anything it should have taken longer, this was an ABBREVIATED take for the sake of an audience. And yeah... Subaru is an ass. He did the right thing the wrong way. Which is in character.

I'm glad there is support for their language switch in these comments. If them switching languages will help making commentary easier and help them follow the story better then I'm happy. Their reaction to the whole show and all of its aspects, and not just the voice acting, is what's important to me. The sub obsession is...quite odd. Do you care about their reaction to the voice acting more? Do you think Re:Zero's fantastic story can not shine with adequate voice actor? Or do you think the dub is so bad that it will distract from the great story? Also, I think many people confuse their dislike of the dub version to the fact that it's unfamiliar to them and their brain is just not used to it yet. Kind of like how so many people grew up watching DBZ, Death Note, and Bleach in dub and so they don't like the sub as much and are more likely to suggest the dub version.

First, the japanese VA of Re:zero is one of the elements on solidifying this as a top tier show, other than the atmosphere and music, it actually drives out the character's real emotions much better than the dub. Second, yes the dub is lacking emotion and somewhat cringe, not because it is done by English VA, but because out mindset is just used to hearing anime characters in their native language. Subaru being japanese and all, plus everytime im watching anime on dub felt like im watching an anime abridged episode ngl, cant take the show seriously if it was on dub smh. Third, we get why DBZ is better in dub, shouting really loud is one of things English VA excel more than the Japanese VA. Bleach can either be enjoyed on sub or dub since it doesnt necessarily focus on heavy dialogue like Re:zero. Dont get me wrong, i respect the dub version, it shows how far English VA has evolved over these past decades. Its just that when it comes to shows that involves psychological tension, drama, and emotion, SUB is the best way to go, and it should stay that way period.

The dub was surprisingly good because whenever I watch the japanese of the scene. Its so painful to watch because their emotions are so real and I feel bad for both of them. But the dub takes that away which made is easy to bare. Basically worse voice acting made it less realistic. Anyways the problem is the guy in glasses, its an important scene but he keeps laughing and saying bewbs. Why
