The speed/petal thing is literally Ruby’s semblance. So like how Yang gets stronger with every hit, Blake’s clones and Weiss’ glyphs.

The reason Blake could make those elemental copies was because of Weiss, she gave her the ammo to do it.

Ruby’s semblance is called Petal Dash, she can travel in bursts of speed by briefly materializing into a gust of rose petals.

The reason Oobleck could use Zwei as a weapon is because ALL living creatures have the potential to generate an aura shield given the proper training as it is a manifestation of the soul. Grimm, however are literally soulless, another reason why Grimm evaporate after death similarly to the Titans in Attack on Titan.

Also, Zwei is part of a family full of Huntsman/Huntresses so it’s safe to assume that Ruby and Yang’s father trained Zwei how to activate an aura.

Again, I'm going to recommend you guys react to the RWBY World of Remnant specifically Dust, Kingdoms, Grim, and Aura. It will clear up a lot of confusion you guys are having. Anyway keep up the great content :)

The dog is trained to use its aura to help fight so it protects itself with its aura to attack

I honestly want you guys to also react to the soundtracks after every volume as well. They give some answers to questions as well as character motivation and background that they only subtly go into in the show.

And yeah Weiss gave Blake dust before the fights started, it’s how she was able to use different elements for her semblance :) My favorite one is always that gravity one! (Purple) gives her range.

That move that Ruby used on Torchwick is her semblance. It's been used a lot, actually, and mentioned a couple of times. Basically, she turns into rose petals and uses it for a burst of speed and can even fly short distances with it. If anyone uses any power that's not directly elemental or just badass martial arts, it's probably their semblance. Blake leaves clones, Weiss uses glyphs and Yang powers up with damage taken.

Also, the White Fang were basically ready to go ahead with their plan when RWBY busted in. They just wanted to load up more cars and had to make do with what they had. Essentially, they succeeded, but would have liked to do even more damage.
