1917 is such a good movie. Great to see y'all react to it.

Great reaction guys. A couple things to add, first, the helmets the British used were supposed to protect against explosive shrapnel, not bullets. The helmets were .7 mm thick (1/32 of an inch). If they made helmets thick enough to stop bullets at the time they'd be too heavy for most normal people to wear. About the Sikh soldier, the British Empire controlled a lot of the world at this point in history. So the British recruited hundreds of thousands of Africans and Indians from their colonies to fight in the war. Lastly, Dunkirk took place during WWII Micky, not World War One.

The Hindenburg line was a massive series of defences. The Germans encountered in this movie are mostly rearguard troops intending to delay until the main force could pull back behind the HL. In general, the German trenches were better fortified as they thought they would be in the trenches and on the defensive longer than the Allies.
