This show had so many issues, but so much that was good. I loved it so much more than DS9.

B5 is my favorite show of all time. Unfortunately the effects don't age well however the characters do. this show has some of the best character arcs ever written. if it had been me i would have had you watch one of the B5 movies called "Babylon 5: In the Beginning" rather that an actual episode

its only horrible when compared to the other seasons other wise season one is just average 90's sci fi and that's a high average considering the 90's is the best decade for sci fi tv so far

You guys have no idea how much of the issues you raised the show touches upon. It's easily worth a full view. Season 1 has a lot of world building (as well as some kinda bad episodes, but some really good ones too) but at season 2 it takes off and just keeps on going.
