if I may have the audacity to rephrase what Suraj said at the end w/ my own interpretation of the show's intent: As a grey-asexual man I was definitely annoyed by the "foodgasm" trope being used in this show but....knowing how boys can be on the internet & how they're conditioned to think about women.....I do kinda enjoy the idea of baiting creeps & inappropriately horny boys stuck in puberty into learning so much about cooking that they might leave w/ something more substantial, fulfilling & constructive than demanding girls & women to "send nudes pls" . as an autistic I was very intrigued by how the show/manga plays w/ imaginations, certainly gave me a few ideas on visualizing things more effectively since I usually struggle w/ it. But I did find the lewdness disturbing & was happy that it was toned down season after season.

Man seeing how much they enjoyed this, it kinda sucks that they always have to react to shows that other ppl want and make it to the wheel rather then shows they want to watch or continue watching. i get they have had this system but i feel like they have earned/deserve to have at least 1 or 2 shows they picked themselves. Keep up the great work guys!

God I hope you guys come back to this when you can easily in my personal top 5. Also the channel was Epicurious who do the 4 levels of cooking different foods, don't remember the exact name of the series though.

Y’all should have done two episodes. I personally don’t think the 1st episode shows how good the show can be. It actually turned me off first time I saw it. the fan service was a bit much but I stuck with it cuz I heard about the food competitions, the food looked too good plus it was pretty funny too. The 2nd episode gives you a better look. And yeah you do get the recipes and in the manga it’s written for ppl to try at home too.

I don't think the show really hits its stride till episode 12. There is nothing compelling about a character that can do no wrong. Its the struggle that makes us watch. Which why unfortunately keeps this show from being in a top list because it essentially goes nowhere for however many seasons its on. But "Memories of a Dish", thats where things really start firing on all cylinders.

So a couple things: First I’ve watched both the sub and dub versions of food wars and I’m glad you watched the dub. The dub jokes are really funny and they also give you additional pieces of information on certain topics Second, the show does have an official cookbook that’s filled with the recipes from the show. It also has some recipes not included in the show that were written by the chef who comes up with the recipes for the show and manga. She wrote each recipe based on the characters cooking style so they’re all really unique. The cook book is only available in Japanese, but I have a digital copy that’s been translated into english and I would be more than happy to share it with you guys Lastly I have made the Gotcha Pork Roast a few times and it really is amazing

For sure, i agree with you. I watch a couple of other reactors, namely Blind Wave and Imon, and they sometimes pick their own stuff to watch and not just things that win the polls, and i have no idea why The Normies have never really done that, other than "the schedule" i guess. If The Normies just wanted to pick up a show without it winning a poll that would be dope, if they have the time and space for it of course. Mainly saying this in the hopes they'll just watch Death Note and Gurren Lagann tbh lol.

You can find the recipes online most of them were in the manga chapters. Or you guys can check out Chef PK on youtube hes a real chef who did reactions of Food Wars and has cooked many of the stuff from the show.

People who complain about the dub Erina voice obviously never gave the dub a fair shot. The dub is great at adding information for the show and good jokes.

I have been waiting for you guys to react to this show for sooo long, I love it. When I watched it for the first time my roommate came into my room on the exact moment the squid scene was playing and her reaction was the same as yours. I just laugh at her, lol. I believe that was just a "reaction request" where they only watch 1 or 2 episodes. They have also said that those reaction requests can turn into full reactions once other shows get finished.
