This was definitely an interesting one lol

Shout out to Liam Dyer for requesting that we give this a shot!

This was an interesting anime that I would like to see more of. It deals with themes that most of these shows don't typically deal with. Doesn't shy away from mature content but the story is a little weird in the beginning. I imagine as a short series it gets better and better.

How do you request a show?

Anonymous

What..... what was this show like the fuck lol

PKKite

Gantz is a classic case of hidden gem that never reached the mainstream as hard as something like EVA. Still huge but not big enough for normies and casual anime fans to know of.

DAINTHEMANE

I was thinking about re-watching this in my spare time.

Sam h

This manga is the shit. Super unpredictable sad. And exciting

Chrisman148

Havent watched this and im cringing lol (I dont hate the show btw just think it aint gonna be pleasant for reactions).

Leo

Man if you haven't seen it before, your are missing a pretty good show, the manga is better but the anime itself is a nice ride.

Ghost_Troupe

Gantz is the perfect introduction to Seinen manga/anime, along with Berserk.

Anonymous

Reaction a Fate/Zero, please.

Chaos T

This is a weird request. It's an ok anime but I'm not sure it works great for reactions. In my opinion Berserk would be a better anime if you're getting into this type of genre.

Anonymous

I... never thought I'd see the day when ANYONE would react to Gantz lol.

Mister_Momus

If you continue with Gantz in your own time then I implore you to do so in manga form. In my opinion, and the general consensus I've heard from people I know that have sampled both, the anime is absolute garbage by comparison to the manga.

Mister_Momus

For perspective, I think the manga for Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood) are marginally better than the shows, watch whichever media you're most comfortable with - I might have some manga chapters I recommend you read to append your knowledge, like Youswell and the train in early FMA. The Harry Potter books are significantly better than the movies, I will highly recommend you read the books if you enjoyed the movies, but thee movies are pretty a'ight themselves. Gantz don't even bother with the anime, watch the first episode to see if you can cope with the themes and read the manga if you're interested and ignore the rest of the anime until you've read the manga.

Rand

Can someone recommend Carole and Tuesday for them to watch?

Anonymous

To give some context the Gantz manga started in 2000 and ended 2013. The anime was made in 2004. As a result the anime only covers about 90 chapters out 383. And since the manga wasn't even close to finished the anime had to make up its own ending. This means most of the character and story developments that happen later in the manga never happen in the anime.

anixxander

man by dumb ass watch this when i was like in middle school fucked me up

Settsu

I only read the manga and gatta say it was a good read

Alex cleveland

Idk what's weirder, THIS or Bakemonogatari 😂

Saifu

Just read the manga and maybe watch Gantz:O, a CGI movie for the visuals that loosely adapted a much later arc in the manga.

KevinFromNewYork

That's one of the worst dubs I've heard in a while

Ryan H

That dub was horrible

Nago

Schroedingers Anime Character. Not enough upper Body Strength to climb up a latch but still enough to choke out a grown up Yakuza who is taller than him

Chaolao

Yes, just keep watching this series, until the end.

Chaolao

Yeah, which pretty sucks... the manga finished in 2013 ain't gonna have a next season after years.... :(

Chaolao

Same..... I wasn't expecting things to happen like that back on YouTube, where part 1 and 2 of those episodes.

Chaolao

Yeah, they needa watch it with subs. Unless listening to the painful dub there is.

SeymourAsces

Yup this is a lot more mature than you guys are probably used to. If you’re tired of the heroes always winning, this is the manga/anime for you. The dominant vibe of this show is pessimism and hopelessness, which makes it very interesting.

Chris D. Jones

So is this before the movie or is it not connected at all?

Anonymous

Do you mean Gantz: O? then yes this takes place before the movie.

Anonymous

Since when are either of those things particularly rare or inherently interesting?

Anonymous

You guys should watch the last kingdom. A Netflix show. How do i recommend a show because it’s really good and you Guys would love. It’s one of my favorite shows but I don’t think gets the love it deserves.

John Diamond

This dub sucks. Japanese people don’t talk like this at all. You’re better of with subs for this one.

John Diamond

Also to say that it’s not a realistic depiction of society that no helped is a bunch of bologna. I’ve witnessed what happened in this video in person (not online) and no one helped. A guy fell fell face first drunk onto the tracks Drunk in Chicago. No one helped. I remember thinking should jump down to help? What if I get my ass stuck. Can I even lift a grown ass man by myself. Luckily, he eventually regained consciousness and we were able to pull him up after about 10 minutes and no train came. Also Japan was way advanced technology wise in the 2000’s. Everyone had camera phones.

Chris V

OH SHIT! I didn't see this one coming. Prepare for despair my firends. Prepare for despair.

wont let me watch due privacy settings?

This anime was left incomplete. The manga has finished years ago and was awesome. This anime did a good job of following the manga.

KimKaiRen

This is a strange request. Btw, most of the anime you usually react to is shonen (for ages 12-18). Gantz is seinen (for ages 18+). I honestly think this is the first seinen I've seen from normies. I suggest to try out a milder seinen like Tokyo Ghoul. It has mixed reviews but the first season is still top tier and is a good transition from shows like Naruto and HxH.

Tulio

lol, this cannot be true... is tokyo ghoul really considered seinen? it is like the holy gral of edgy teens, hahaha

Synd

the manga is far better than the anime, but the anime is still an interesting introduction; just bear in mind that the last 2 episodes are basically a filler ending for the anime, and aren't canon. If you guys decide to pick this up, I'd advise watching the Gantz:O movie, it's got RIDICULOUSLY good CGI animation, and tells a story set long after the anime (it's an adaptation of a much later manga arc)

Anonymous

Ahhhhhhhhh I’m so excited y’all are doing this anime!!! It’s gon be 🔥 can’t wait to see y’all reactions 👏👏👏♥️

Vehemnt

Mid 2000's was peak anime :)

Anonymous

It's a reaction request man, calm your tits :D They're only doing one episode..

Ashore

The Manga is my favorite, tied with Berserk. I will acknowledge, however, that the anime is very flawed. It's still a good time, but there are a lot of awkward moments.

Franz Jundis

Chris, the girl in “brown face” is a Ganguro gal. Google ganguro and gyaru. It was a fashion trend in the early 90s up to today.

Chris V

Dawg he's triggered about this fashion trend. I sure hope he doesn't read the fucking manga.

erick sierra

One of the first anime I watch worth watching it all it was a great anime
