Apologies for the delay yall!  But here we go with the second episode of Vinland Saga.  I am so excited to watch this with you guys.  Its so hard with all the stuff on tv today to find something completely different that you do not expect and this show really does that for me.  I never thought Id see a Vikings anime but here we go!  The Jomsvikings have come ashore and our boy Thors has a tough choice to make.  I feel as if something truly bad will happen here soon! - Nahid

TBH I didnt like Vinland Saga or I didnt get into it until I watched ep 3 or 4. Thats when it gets good asl

Great observation by Nahid regarding how much Thors village is removed from war. I thought it was just the kids that never experienced it but it seems their parents haven’t lived through that harsh reality either.

It is not the same Floki. The Floki you know discovered Iceland like 200 years earlier. As far as i know theres no characters that overlap because Vinland is actually more historically accurate lol live action Vikings just will throw people in there from different times

Fun fact - this series is way older than Vikings...the tv show, not the people i mean lmao. It's just the anime just came out recently, but the manga started in 2005.

It kept me hooked long enough for me to like it by that point. It was a good thing that they dropped like 2 or 3 episodes at one time tho even if it did take longer than usual to drop them cause of the way everything plays out in the next couple of episodes. I got to experience that all at once.

Vikings TV show takes place in 793 AD. Vinland Saga is set in around 1000 AD.

Great discussion! some personal opinions about the expectation while or before watching this anime: for an anime that focuses on history, war and characters' development; this show should be considered quite marvelous. the scores, animation, and emotions are very on points when you get further into the series. although Pat might potentially find it boring in the early episodes due to the fact it is a slow-paced historical anime, the slow pace is technically a proper way to portray a brutal, raw but complicated history. therefore, if people are expecting magnificent fighting sequences and very compelling stories they found in another anime produced by the same studio (people should know what anime I am talking about), chances are, they might get a little disappointed. however, as long as you choose to experience this anime with some patience, it will display some very outstanding character development you can find on tv, anime or not. Hope my comment could be somewhat useful and really hope you guys will enjoy this anime like I did.

The best character has finally appeared :) You guys should react to ''The Last Kingdom'' another vikings show...it's such a great show, personally prefers it to Vikings. I'm on Season 4, it's such a blast and intense AF!!

to add to this: It would make sense that characters are named after Vikings from their heroes era. So,like Floki, Halfdan, Harald etc. you will encounter names you recognize, but they won't bear any connection to the characters you saw on the live action show, unless they are specifically referring to events that took place over 200 years before.

Guys, Marketa is right. This show has no correlation to the Vikings show. The characters are different and the story told is different. You'll just be confused if you compare between the two. Watch it like you're watching a new show.

It’s still kinda sad the others are missing out on this. It’s not the typical shounen battle anime you guys normally watch so I feel like this would have be a great change and watch for everyone. Like this anime is very well written.
