FYI, the Walrus OG you guys were talking about and thought was unnamed is called Dooley ( Silver's right hand man with the curly hair).

Episode 9 is one of the best viewings of television ever. Not like of the last decade. Or two decades. Ever. Episode 7 has its very wonderful moments, but the entire series is shouldered so well by the last two. Yes, I'm hyping them. But they stand on their own merits.

The Guthrie's are in Philadelphia, not London. It's been mentioned before when Eleanor wanted to go get their support, and maybe even in earlier seasons.

"You chose, live with it" is definitely the theme of this episode. Flint watching Miranda's house burn was such a great, symbolic moment. Season 1 is so great to rewatch after you know how the story ends. You see all these little seeds they were planting right from the beginning, some that don't pay off until the finale.

Kyle Semenoff

Yeah, you know how opinion was divided on how well GoT ended (and that's being very diplomatic)? That won't be happening here.

So, one of the cornerstones of Elenor's character is the death of her mother in the Rosario Raids. It was a terrifying experience that affected her very deeply, and I can't imagine that Woodes Rodgers didn't know about it. With that in mind, the fact he brought Spain to Nassau really adds an extra sting. I've mentioned in other comments that I don't think we're meant to 'ship' Elenor and Rodgers as such; or rather, their relationship isn't meant to be healthy. In the beginning it feels to Elenor like they are on equal footing. He listens to her advice, and seeks it out. He knows the awful things she's done, and tells her he loves her anyway. But we see as soon as she becomes his wife how quickly her role changes, is *expected* to change. And here, with his actions, we see that Rodgers never truly knew or understood Elenor at all, nor she him.

Eleanor and Madi's fight/death scene was so hard to watch, really tense and heartbreaking. I was never an Eleanor hater & was really saddened by her death. Also, imo Flint was far from unaffected by Eleanor's death, he cared for her.

I also had much resentment against Elenor, but I had a frog in my throat and couldn’t help but weep in the sight of her dying. Her being pregnant didn’t even really occur to me. It was a very violent, unjust ending for her.

Alexis Cardarella

My roommate, who was watching it with, who happens to be a guy, said they made her seem weaker than she was and I’m like.. what? She put up a god damned good fight. She wasn’t a trained fighter, nor had she been equipped to fight a soldier. But yeah, she put up a hell of a fight, but even if she wasn’t caught off guard, she wasn’t a match for that Spanish soldier.

Pat.. horses were transported by ship. How do you think native Americans rode horses? The Spanish brought them over by boat

Hey! So the distance from Havana to Nassau is 343 miles. A Man ‘O War back then could only said about 11 knots per hour (roughly 12 mph), assuming they had good wind it would take them just under a day to get there and back. A horse needs fifteen to twenty pounds of hay a day, so forty pounds per round trip. An average man of war can carry near to 2,000 tons of additional cargo, so it’s entirely plausible that horses and their feed can be distributed throughout the Spanish fleet (11 or 12 ships I think). Now for Massachusetts to Nassau is over 1,2400 miles. Since they were at the island which is south of Nassau it would take longer, likely around or just over a week for them to arrive. Since it would also take at least a week for the news that Nassau’s fallen to travel, what I imagine is that they’re responding to Nassau’s fall as Governor Roger’s and the English Navy retaking the island from the pirates back in the beginning of season 3, rather than the news of the Spanish invasion we just saw. Since season 3 and season 4 all take place in roughly the same few weeks I think the new pirates/maroons arriving are responding just to British rule and Charles Vane’s death.

It's getting crazy!

If you guys really want to read the true history of pirates in Nassau and the historical characters (Vane, Anne, Jack, etc.), from its beginnings with the young Blackbeard serving under Hornigold to the efforts of Woodes Rodgers, I highly recommend: The Republic of Pirates by Colin Woodard

Think atleats for me this is one of those shows that at the beginning didn't impress me to much like vikings. But as it got further and in this case the introduction of Teach, the character development, sad to see some characters go line Vane. But like the way they bring the history come true. Atm just hope vikings do the show justice and bring a great ending to the story and stick to the truth, but so far they deliver so i'm positive. Also at this time wanna take a sec to appreciate the way you still make content and engage with us, love watching the reactions don't care if they are from home on else, every time you do it put's a smile on my face and i appreciate it now more than ever. Don't wanna write an essay so better stop before it get's to long (not my native language either so might be a few mistakes) But the essential of this message is you guys are amazing, you put a smile on alot of people that need it so much, and you're content are just great. And i'm proud to support it
