Chuck was a dick to everyone around him but man I can't help but feel bad for him. He's absolutely right about Jimmy and the fact that no one else believed him seemed to send him down a spiral so when everyone abandoned him he had nothing left. He sucked sometimes but no one deserves that

I've been wanting to say this for a while but I figured I would wait for this episode. I've personally seen Jimmy and Chuck's relationship in real life with my mom and her brother (my mom being Chuck in this situation) so I should say I empathized with Chuck a lot more than most people did since the beginning but I still loved Jimmy also. Chuck's absolutely right about Jimmy and how he hurts people and only feels bad afterwards and tries to fix things but doesn't learn his lesson and does it all over again, which is exactly what he did in this episode to Irene. I'm sure what he said was true about Jimmy's feelings being real and that he actually felt remorse but what does it say when Jimmy goes and hurts somebody else all over again? From Chuck's pov, after seeing Jimmy go through this cycle over and over again all their lives he was fed up and wouldn't put up with it anymore. No matter how much "better" Jimmy gets Chuck knows it's only a matter of time before he messes up again.

Also when I first watched this season I never saw Chuck's condition as getting better. That's just not how mental illness works, you don't suddenly "get over it" it's something you have to live with for the rest of your life and work hard everyday at not letting it consume your life. Chuck was simply putting on a show for everyone including himself to show he was better but he obviously still felt the pain he felt before. After pushing everyone away he was left with no support structure and no one to pull him out of the pit that he was obviously spiraling down until it ended with him attempting suicide.

Gus wasn't "playing a part" in front of Bolsa when he was trying to save Hector, he legit wanted to save him. Gus wants his death (punishment) to be on HIS terms. Like he told Mike: " Would you care to know why I stopped you from killing Hector? A bullet to the head would have been far too humane. "

Season 3 Episode 4, Gus to Mike regarding Hector: "A bullet to the head would be far to humane". Gus wants to be the one to kill hector in revenge for him killing Max (Gus' partner from BB). That's a big reason why he tried to save Hector.

and take in how the last words Jimmy heard from Chuck "You never mattered all that much to me"....LOL

MJ

i really appreciate you and y'alls effort to get this out for us. I mean y'all could have just stopped doing it for a while or something but you guys did a bunch of extra stuff to give us this so i thank everyone involved a lot, not just for this reaction but for all of them

Jarrod Wild

He didn't mean that very last line to Jimmy (he *does* matter). I think it's what triggered his very fast downward spiral.

Dave Porter goes underappreciated for his amazing music. He went from so many wild west themes in Breaking Bad to these amazing noir themes in BCS. That 6 minutes of music he composed for the scene of Chuck's regression is splendiforous.

Nikki Sonrisa

you are correct. and what does it say about Chuck that he never let go of the obvious resentment he felt for Jimmy his entire life? I don't think Chuck is totally blameless here and I've always felt that Chuck had a hand in making Jimmy who he is. Jimmy has always wanted Chuck's approval and instead of trying to help Jimmy, all Chuck ever did was blame him and try to keep him down "in his place." which is why I will always say "Fuck Chuck." I did feel bad for him in this episode though because that scene of him tearing his house apart was just tragic, along with the suicide. nobody should ever have to go through that.

Nikki Sonrisa

Nacho definitely switched the pills back to the originals. I assume that he always carries them on him when he's working with Hector, in case he has an attack and can switch them back.

The Ultimate Ed

You guys are great. Gotta respect your commitment.

I love how all of you guys are trolling by calling each other "Bro". I think you read my comment earlier. lol if not , Thanks anyways, Bro!

i cant wait until you guys catch up with me watching Better Call Saul live. Final season 6 may be next year.

Fresh2000

one of the most wtf moments in the show chuck's suicide, chuck may have been a dick but he didn't deserve that and i always feel bad for him because he could have possibly gotten better when i watch reactions to this episode

Fresh2000

chuck was lying about not caring about jimmy

I really love your reactions ! season 5 is on right now, and it is *so good* ! I'm glad to know that in a few months I'll be able to revisit all those amazing moments through you guys

B00ch

oh man Howard really is a great guy. Not gonna lie when i first saw him i thought "he looks like one of those guys" like a dbag. i was so wrong. he's a really caring person. Also i rooted against Gus in Breaking Bad. he had to go

I can't believe you guys have never noticed the foreshadowing to Saul's future business with Walter in Breaking Bad. They keep showing you Saul and Kim's office logo in so many scenes. Didn't that ring a bell? It has to be one of the clearest, in your face reference to what's to come for Jimmy.

Disappointed in you guys. ;) You usually pick on that stuff.
