Now this is the beginning into our three episode binge! Boy was this episode a good one.  I loved the blast from the past on Zenitsu's side of the world.   We love some good ole character development and this episode sure did deliver!

3 episode binge, possible Double drop? Also this is where I said it would help to show the element the user uses is probably more than just art style since otherwise why would he have been hit by lightning

Lol the water is clearly real even when Tanjiro was fighting that demon who could out put arrows, Tanjiro was changing the direction of the arrows from a distance with his water. Why is that still an argument for yall lol

Probably because it was reported that the show-runners stated it was metaphorical and not real.

This anime won anime of the year, which is ridiculous. The Promised Neverland is by far and away the best anime of last year.

All tanjiro heard was the extreme speed at which zenitsu was moving which sounded like a lightning strike. Hence the cant smell thunderclouds part. I think anyway.

Actually Tanjiro was only able to hear a sound similar to thunder because that’s how fast Zenitsu was moving, but he specifically added that he COULD NOT smell any thunderclouds around him, which would mean there isn’t actually any real thunder

For two, Zenitsu’s master, Zenitsu, and the mean black-haired kid are not related. The other kid was already a student of his. He says to stop calling him in such a familiar way because he doesn’t believe it to be a respectable way to address the sensei. Also, as far as we know, the lightning bolt that changed Zenitsu’s hair was just a random pop-up storm.

Yea, that lightning strike was pure coincidence and the only thing that gave him was the blonde hair (as far as I know), him being so strong is because of the hellish training he went through with "gramps" and the innate talent he has (nothing supernatural). Also, the water is indeed a metaphorical reprenstation of Tanjiro's strike, stength and the motion it is executing.

For three, as far as I understand it, each of the breathing techniques is just representational, but the effects aren’t always consistent. The spider-kid noticed the air ripple and Tanjiro heard the thunderclap, which was also audible in the Mansion fight with the drum demon. I’m sure there is a solid answer that maybe the author gave in a manga panel that I might have missed or that he can state clearly one way or the other, but overall the elemental representation is just to illustrate what kind of pattern or movement the forms are meant to follow or mimic in nature. Many of the water forms are directly taken from different motions water takes in nature. The blessed rain is just representative of a very clean cut, which is only really possible if the one it is used on is giving their neck to be cut. Tanjiro switched from the first form, which is a bit more violent and painful (I assume) because he realized the demon was giving in and wanted to make it peaceful

The visuals on the Breath techniques are indeed just effect flairs. No actual elements are actually conjured (although Ufotable seems to be taking liberties with this) Think of it this way: historically in martial arts, various techniques and stances are conceived and designed after animals, such as the movements of snakes, eagles, praying mantis', etc. Though in our case, we're going for breathing techniques after elements instead, which is still technically a discipline of martial arts So all the Demon Slayers have to work with are sheer skills and smarts. Only the Demons get to conjure up what's effectively magic. In Zenitsu's case, the speed at which he moves is just "lightning" fast. So fast that he can break sound, and cause all types of vibrations.

listen guys the breathing techniques are metaphorical take it from someone who is all the way caught up to the manga. I agree it would be a lot cooler if they weren't tho. Also zenitsu didn't conjure that bolt of lightning it was a freak accident. Lastly the sound that tanjiro heard was either zen crashing through the house or the studio is being lose with the adaptation in the regard of hearing the thunder from zens attacks.

"No one has seen him fight like this". While still true, Tanjiro using his strong sense of scent actually has an idea how strong Zenitsu is. He foreshadowed in ep 11 before we got introduced to Zenitsu's sleep style in ep 12.

Loved the reaction but a few things. For one Zenitsus master isn’t his grandfather, he just calls him that and two while supernatural things do occur, for the most part everything the demon hunters do is based off training so the lightning striking Zenitsu was just a coincidence and the breathing techniques as stated earlier in the series is what gives them there superhuman strength that’s why they’re so strong

I wish they discussed more about Zenitsu. I feel like this episode is to allow the viewers to have a deeper understanding of Zenitsu and to build him as one of the main characters (in case episode 12 hadn't done the job.) Anyway, this is still fun. And I love that Rana really likes Zenitsu now. <3

Tanjiro knows that Zenitsu is strong. He smelt his strength and tried to tell him several times. During their meeting and when he thanked him for protecting Nezuko's box.

This is why i was nervous when everyone was hyping up the show so much....they compare it to other animes and then they are let down because their expectations are really high. To be honest kny is a very typical shounen anime its just there hasn't been a show like this that has captured a lot of peoples' attention in a while so thats why it was being raved about so much.... i hope the normies (besides nahid bc i think he actually really enjoys it) can really enjoy it without too many comparisons !!

I can't said that MHA is fully better than Demon Slayer quite yet, because MHA has gotten more time to develop, but comparing it to season 1 MHA, Demon Slayer has the better hook. I got Sold by episode 3, so it just a depend on how well Demon Slayer can develop its plot and characters going forward.
