I’ve been waiting all day for this.. Ooo weee 💦💦💦

Nick R

Bruh this is so unfair!! I wanna see their reaction to the god tier voice acting but I gotta wait for full length!!!

Anonymous

This episode for everyone saying dubs is better than subs.

yooin

cant wait for nekopara reactions

Leaky Peach

"Pitou lacks empathy" -Suraj Literally her human flaw is empathy XD

Zaj

One of greatest feats in anime voice acting. Change my mind.

God tier episode man!

Jordan Odle

Based on your discussion then how would pitou get to kite to heal him if all her limbs are broken because from Gon’s perspective he wants to do it as soon as she is done so how are they going to get kite and pitou in the same room without here limbs. You can’t say Gon will carry pitou because there is too much hate for that to happen and you can’t say someone will help because they are all too busy or are going to say no and on the chance that she is lying who ever agrees to carry pitou is in danger. Part of Gon’s anger in this situation is that he is as wild animal right that has been forced into a box and he is lashing out and Killua has learned from Gon that it is best to not be in same room as it unless he wants to get hurt too

Zee

"Killua.. I'm asking the questions" 😯😩

Alex cleveland

Gon VA and Character is amazing in this arc 😳🤯

Anonymous

And this is why you always watch anime in subs lol

Jordan Odle

Oh and I forgot a thing that is interesting about this scene very much is how the roles are reversed. Gon is ready to kill an innocent person to get what he wants becoming slightly the monster he thinks pitou is while Pitou is trying to save a innocent life and doing the protagonist thing of sacrificing themselves in order to do that. It is what I like about HxH you see that a lot of people fall in neutral categories or at least not completely on one side of good and evil they are just people with different ideals and making choices

Gabriel Moreira

THIS ARC IS SO SAAAAAAAD I love it

Blue Carl

I read somewhere that Pitou is an It, she still crazy though

SoreDakeNoKoto

Neat reactions. But they can't break everything cos they do need her to be in good enough shape to travel to Peijing to heal Kite

Alan

Watch the Dub of this scene if you want to see why people are often adamant about watching Subs over Dubs, shit is so much worse it's not even funny.

Anonymous

Hey, nice reaction, but where is ep 13 of demon slayer?

Alejandro Gil

There is a lot of little cool visual cues this episode. The "window into darkness" they keep focusing on, pitou over the shoulder turn being the same as we she attacked Kite just under difference circumstances. The way togashi flips the roles in this scene is one of my favorite things. Gon came here after holding on to his anger for months thinking he was going to be the conquering hero coming to administer his vengeance on a monster and instead he finds just a person trying anything possible to save "someone who is important to someone who is important to her" (Who the humans injured by the way). Almost word for word what Ikalgo says referring to Palm. It 100% undercuts Gon's initiative. Gon is a great charaacter on his own but what makes him even more interesting is how togashi uses him as a vessel to critique the standard shounen protagonist. Things like stubbornness, personal pride, never giving up, will power and optimism are usually the most heralded traits of shounen protagonist. All those things are also Gon's biggest flaws. It's really cool if you look back throughout the story and you can notice that Gon has always been this way. It's also ironic that it's Gon who pushes Kurapika away from revenge against the troupe, but look how he is acting here when one of his friends were killed. (Keep in mind Kite was heading to kill the chimera ant queen and pitou basically intercepted them and fought kite. It's not like she snuck into Kite's house at night and murdered him. This isn't that black and white)

Alejandro Gil

Also Gon ripped Killua's heart out by telling him this means nothing to him bc literally Gon means everything to Killua

Dean Li

Yeah that was a harsh moment and cherry on top after everything that Killua did for Gon 😟

"how could you kill people who have nothing to do with you" - gon to chrollo. Gon's voice actress with as good of a performance as i've ever seen.

Justin Neason

I never thought of putting it that way. What stands out about this moment is that when an MC goes rage mode and uses negative emotions to power up and obliterate someone it's typically a "good" thing and a hype moment. Here it shows how that would actually be damaging in many ways. Same thing for Gon's behavior in Greed Island. If not for that card Gon wouldn't even be in the shape to be a Hunter anymore

HxH will always be in my top 10 animes

Alex cleveland

Facts bro its top 10, top 5, top 3 worthy bro. Even a lot of ppls number 1 anime. But its in the top 10 for me.

Whim

Truly GOD Tier voice acting and sound design.. the episodes from here on out in this arc just go crazy

Pucki

for reactions its easier your right on that and your also right that an OV is always superior than a translation because of thing like "lost in translation" at the same time a good show will most likely stay a good show even when the english dub is weaker than the OV. You need to really fuck up the dub in your language for a good show to turn into a bad one

Anonymous

this episode reminds me why HxH is #1 to me. regarding subs over dubs in Naruto btw i partially agree.. the problem with Naruto is the general inconsistencies in quality episode to episode. along with the fact that the best original voice actors in Naruto are side-characters.. and alot of people dislike the main protagonist voice actor. to me the main protagonist dub and sub are equally annoying and equally likeable, but the difference is huge when you meet characters like Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Itachi, Kisame, Pain, Tobi etc

The king turning more human and gon turning like a monster. The greatness of this arc

Dinero

To be fair, I don't recall seeing her show empathy towards anyone else besides the King up to this point in the anime. The Normies even mentioned this directly after Suraj said that.

GeezLaWeez

Pitou is a she in the anime and he in the manga

Jigga Man

Killua Gon Bro

Jason Lim

As of today, the anime I would gladly watch dubs over subs is Fullmetal Alchemist

DarkJoker

I can't wait!!!

Andrew Goncalves

Finally! lol original voices are just different man Thats the reason I was saying to watch MHA 4x13 subbed only that ep dekus voice actor deserves an award for that episode lol anyway I get it makes the action easier to follow and the plot easier to understand without reading the SUBS maybe im just so used to it from watching so much Anime Foreign Film and not to mention my bros stepson is deaf so I grew up watching alot of stuff with Subs so its like second nature.

Shaqueena Watkins

Isnt there usually 2 episodes dropped per week. Shouldnt ep 17 been here too? Or are they just uploaded whenever you guys want? Serious question cause im confused

Patrick Wotton

You're right about original voices and audio, there's quality lost when you dub it. Also the comment about the ending song matching the current situation--there's a reason why this ED is the best on the show.

Do you see the parallel between Gon and the King. You see that Gon is going to the dark side while the king is switching roles. Look at the way Gon is sitting and staring at Pitou, his literally sitting like how the king is sitting.

Anonymous

Yup that the maain topic of this arc , what atwist maaan

Nice reaction guys. Pitou is definitely my most favorite royal guard and also one of my favorite among all the characters in this arc. In this episode you can witness her genuine loyalty to the king, as opposed to a toxic kind of devotion that pouf displays. Imagine if Pouf was the one defending Komugi, he would probably use gon and killuas interference as an excuse to let Komugi die, since he believes Meruem is turning "unkingly" because of Komugi. On the other hand, Pitou defended Komugi with her life, reasoning that Meruem will cease to be who he is when she dies. Pouf values Meruem's title as the king of all ants while Pitou values Meruem as an individual; and I think this binary of human individualism and subhuman pecking order is the main theme of this arc (along with the blur of right and wrong in the midst of war). Remember on e108 when Meruem ask the royal guards what his name is? Pouf answered his name is "king" and nothing else, while Pitou said that Meruem can choose any name he pleases. This signifies how Pouf wants Meruem to be the all conquering king while Pitou wants Meruem to grow up naturally and become what he wants to become. Pitou never mentioned killing Komugi, it was only Pouf and Youpi who had contemplated killing her. This is evident also in the "name scene" where Pouf jokingly told Youpi "to think that my mind operates on the same level as yours". Pitou wants Meruem to become what he wants to become rather than what he is allegedly "destined" to be. Besides Komugi, Pitou is the only true friend of Meruem. You can say that Pitou is to Meruem what killua is to gon. (Also, with the "gon and meruem role reversal" thing, in terms of their relationship with their closest comrades: remember in episode 85, Gon thanked Killua for their escape from Pitou; while in episode 91, Meruem smacked Pitou for giving him too much instructions how to eat a human? now shit got reversed when Gon pushed Killua away during the encounter and Meruem trusted Komugis life to Pitou.) I just love Pitou so much and I also like how Togashi made her development really subtle and seemingly ambiguous throughout the arc. This arc is a masterpiece, the character developments and dialogue always have a subtle meaning relating to the overarching message. Meruem means "light that illuminates all" while Killua said "Gon you are light". The title "Light and darkness" of episode 85 is not Killua and Gon but Gon and Meruem, but who is really light and who is darkness? The attention to detail is remarkable. Hxh is direct and subtle at the same time. This anime, if not the best, is one of the greatest anime of all time; anyone who disagrees has not paid close enough attention to Togashi's literary craftsmanship.

Anonymous

Pitou said "Komugi is someone who is important to someone who is important to me" but Kite is also important to Gon and Gon is important to Killua; therefore, Kite is important to Killua because of Gon. So Killua's relationship to Kite is the same as Pitou's relationship to Komugi. People always say how remarkable Gon and Meruem's parallelisms are but KIllua and Pitou's is also incredible and the normies will witness them as they watch. cant wait!

By the way, the showing of the "darkness in the window" signifies Gon's plunge into darkness through "animalistic rage". This is contrasted with how they show the beams of light seeping through the roof which signifies Gon's "humaness" and reasoned understanding. In this episode, Gon is wavering between his human side and his "ant" side in his contemplation whether or not to kill Komugi. So everytime they show the window Gon is angry, and everytime Gon becomes "calm", they show the beams of light. And Gon is vacillating between two state of minds. In episode 108, Meruem also wavered between human (ability to reason) and ant (rage, savagery, etc.) as he was indecisive whether or not to kill Komugi as Gon is now contemplating, with the same "anger soundtrack", light and darkness cinematographic contrast and all.

Jason Lim

Oh, I thought the window was representing the moment when Pitou leapt into the building and saw Meruem's condition, then cried as she was asked by Meruem to heal Komugi, being thought of as a friend. I thought it showed Pitou's ability for human empathy as Killua was doubting that she was even capable of it while the shot kept panning to the window

Nyv

The fuck do you mean its 1 ep every week and a double drop at the end of the month or when there really good shit that needs to be double dropped

HybridThizzle

Using 1 thing to judge an entire medium is pretty shitty dude. There are plenty good dubs.
