Hello everyone! I wanted to start off by saying the results of this poll WILL NOT necessarily sway our decision to either side. We are issuing this poll to get a gauge if there is an overwhelming majority for 1 option compared to another. We will then make our decision together based on what our comfort is, still taking into consideration what others would like to see.

Please select 2 out of the 4 options only.

Should The Normies watch Kakashi Gaiden before starting Shippuden, following the official order of the manga? Or should The Normies wait until KG comes up in the anime several episodes later as it aired on TV?

Should The Normies switch to Subs for Shippuden or remain with Dubs?

Is it possible to still put the subs up on the final edit while still watching dubbed? I'm hard of hearing and sometimes can't hear anything from show even with the volume all the way up

I like naruto in both sub and dub. So I say do watch you want. It's all good. But I do think it's better to watch KG first for reasons I can't say due to spoilers. Just trust us in this. Watch KG before continuing with the series.

I think you should definitely start in dub but gradually switch to subs once u are accustomed to the show. Only reason because the ending of the show is not dubbed yet so you will have to switch anyway.

I feel watching it before starting Shippuden will make the twist more harder to see, i realized it in seconds my 1st watch. Also id say Dub, MAINLY due to "the main Antagonists" Voice. I prefer it in English cause of how deep it is

Personally, switching to sub now after getting to know the characters for 100+ episodes is going to be rough. You guys had this problem with 7DS, I don't see why it wouldn't affect Naruto reactions too. Staying with dub is headache free.

FYI guys, one of the mods Johnny Blue made a edit for KG where he replaced the OP and ED with a Part 1 Naruto OP and ED (the ones used in the 220 reaction they watched) so the Normies won’t be spoiled by anything in Shippuden

I feel like watching the kakashi side story as it appeared in the anime was a good place for it. I feel like watching it first might give a bit too much insight into what may happen later in the anime.

KG definitely before Shippuden... And I don't really mind the dubs... But I would like it if u guys watch atleast one episode in sub to get a feel of how the voices are in Japanese... Especially Naruto.. As I loved his Japanese VA... It can be any odd filler episode. Of your choice... I am cool.. Believe it!!!! 😎

You guys claiming they should stay with the dubs so they don't have to get used to the new voice, you realise that they'll need to switch to subs for the last 50 episodes, right? They'll need to do the switch anyway, so why not do it right now and get used to it? Switching to the subs only in the last 50 episodes sounds much worse than the alternative...

I really don't enjoy watching dub versions of anything. The experience isn't the same imo. I just cringe at the emotional parts when hearing them in English😂. But that's me! Everyone's different. It's a question of preference not quality... So just go with the one that makes your viewing experience the best👍🏾!

I think watching Kakashi Gaiden in either order is fine but you guys should really stick to the dub since that’s what you’re used to now and it wouldn’t feel right switching at this point. The people saying that the sub is a million times better are only saying that because that’s what they’re used to. Some shows don’t do a good job with dubs but Naruto honestly has one of the best English dubs imo.

Kakashi Gaiden didn’t air until quite a ways into Shippuden. I’m watching the show for the first time now and I think it fits well in that place. I think maybe they should wait on it. Plus, the tone of it fits better after they’ve gotten used to Shippuden rather than right at the start.

You're reacting to the show, not the manga, watch the show like everyone else did when it aired. (with the exception of skipping the fillers, not because they're "not part of the manga" but because they're literal fillers that just delay the main storyline)

I say stick with dub because while I love the sub, I think you should stick with the same version throughout just to make it easier (If you want to test it you could watch the Gaiden with sub). I also think you should just watch the order the episodes came out just in case there is a hint of being spoiled (my vote could be swayed by how spoilery the opening is.

I say watch Kakashi Gaiden first. As a Manga reader, i was disappointed to not get that before jumping into shippuuden. ALSO, it shows how great quality wise Shippuuden can be, and honestly in my humble opinion Shippuuden starts off VERY weak. They we still trying to get as much time between episodes and their respective Manga chapters, so the pacing is ......well.... horrible. It gets better , but for the first two arcs or so, it gets pretty rough.

Kakashi Gaiden honestly makes more sense between naruto and shippuden. It's placement in the show is just awkward. And honestly, you guys really like kakashi so it's a good palate cleanser.

I think you should watch a couple episodes on sub, to see the original voices and if you like. Then, if you wanna stay on sub or go back to dub is your decision.

I watched a lot of the emotional moments butchered in the dub and you guys ended up laughing at the voice instead of fully appreciating it. PLEASE watch Shippuden in the sub, it has much more heartfelt moments that the dub actors could not capture.

KG should come later, because if I remember correctly the only reason Kakashi looks back on his life, is because of after what happens to a certain character. Plus it will spoil who the white fang is before the red sand mission.

I don’t know whether to vote subs or dubs. I see the pros and cons with both. They’re watching on Hulu and not all the dubs are on there so it makes sense to just start subs. But I do like most of the voices for dubs and there’s less chance of missing anything. Like if someone sneezes, they might miss something if it’s in subs. And I’m worried with subs that it translates the titles and most of the time the titles are spoilery. I know the title shows when they’re trying to play it but at least they try to avoid reading it. I don’t know. The choice is ultimately up to them and I’m happy either way. It’s not going to stop me from watching

I personally, would not complain if we switched to subs for shippuden after we had dubs for part 1, but, as for my personal choice, I see no reason to switch suddenly when you're used to the dub. It would be jarring to you and would take away from whats going on in the early episodes while you get used to it.

KG first and dubs. Reason for KG, it reinforces certain topics and its original placement in the anime only interrupted the story, also those topics will be reinforced later on anyways. For dubs, they are already used to them, also certain character's name is just too good to PAss up IN dubs.

how in the world of fucks can people actually want them to keep watching in dub, the whole show gets so much worse with dub and the dubs just keeps getting worse and worse as the show goes on, while the subs just keeps getting better, it's lightyears ahead of dub. there must be something genuinely wrong with people, it's not even a matter of taste, it's not logically possible to prefer dub, it's like preferring a plate of dog shit over a plate of cheesecake, it's literally the exact same thing, that's why i'm completely fucking mindblown over this, i can't comprehend it

Some of ya'll in the comments on the subs vs. dubs side need to chill out. Personally, since I switched to subs when the show was airing and was pretty satisfied with the overall experience, I think it'd be super cool if you guys could switch to subs as well. Good voice acting, good time. HOWEVER if ya'll are more comfortable watching it dubbed, that's totally valid. (Especially since people have been clowning ya'll for WAY too long about not knowing information when ya'll are just trying to vibe with the show.) Only thing I'd caution you on if you choose that route is making sure that whatever resource you're using to watch it on has ALL 500 EPISODES dubbed. The dub took a VERY long to catch up and complete with the subbed version. So I heavily recommend double checking that everything lines up before making any decisions on sub or dub, you don't want to be halfway done and then have to switch in the middle or something after all. Hope you guys are having a good day!

No way, they MUST watch before starting shippuden. Gaiden is two episodes and they do two episodes per week, its perfect. I can't explain why but there is a whole reason why the author decided to publish Kakashi Gaiden before Naruto Shippuden, they placed differently in the anime because of TV format reasons.

I read the manga as it came out. Watched Shippuden in subs as it came out. Then rewatched it in dub. I can honestly say that the sub and dub quality is roughly equal (subs is better but I voted dub). That being said, there are questionable voice actor choices in dubs. Gaara’s VA tries too hard to be an emo teen. Kurama’s VA sounds like an average guy trying to deepen his voice. And some I can’t mention yet.

Dub is pretty good, I only switched to subs late in the series because my apps weren’t working & it was my only option lol. Ya it’s pretty good lol. The dub VA for Naruto himself is not very good in shippuden imo 😭 sasuke & a certain 2 other villains have great DUB VA’s imo so that’s why I FW it a lot + I think it’s easier for the normies to follow DUB than sub

I'm for dub when the voice acting is good like Inuyasha and yu yu Hakusho I could never watch sub because the dub is just that good. The first half of Naruto is great dub but, and this is just my personal opinion, the dub for shippuden fell short.

The only reason people say watch Gaiden first is because they're impatient. And while it doesn't spoil the story directly, it spoils some secrets and backstory. If I remember correctly, you guys don't like spoilers, so just a warning while you decide.

I'm a sub guy. Watched everything the first time on subs. Rewatched on subs. Watched with my 5 year old on Dub and it's fine just not my preferred way. But in this reaction format, it's Dub all the way. The reaction imo is smoother and I'm not caught reading the subs then enjoying their reactions. I've watched other reactors on subs. It only works when they pause and then give their reaction. That's not what this channel is about.

I'm voting sub. I really cant stand Narutos voice actor. Where as Junko Takeuchi is a legend. Her acting has brought me to tears so many times. I would also like to point out that in the original poll, sub won but you still did dubs which was very disappointing. It also became frustrating whenever someone made fun of dialogue or acting. That wouldn't have been an issue if you were watching the sub. It would also be nice to hear correct pronunciation of character names. Also, you would have the distinction of being one of the few if not only react channel watching the subs. Sub watchers are desperate for sub reactors. Please be that channel, Normies. <3

Watching Kakashi Gaiden before will diverge your minds to a completely different aspect of the show which I don't think your prepared for yet. There's got to be a certain amount of buildup where those 2 episodes become much more relevant. Hence, why the anime chose to do it later down the road which was great move by them. Right now their focus is Sasuke/Naruto stuff and Akatsuki which is what Shippuden starts off as. Most of the people voting for this are just super impatient im sorry. Also dont care about sub/dub

Always been a sub guy, but in a group reaction format dub is just more enjoyable from the perspective of the reaction. If it is a single person reacting I always advocate subs. But in a group, Dub just makes for a better reaction. Plus, the Naruto dub is not bad by any means. Not as good as the sub, but it is a fine dub. Anyone saying otherwise is showing ridiculous bias.

I can't really stand Naruto's voice in the sub. The rest of the voice acting is great but the English actress kills the part. I also agree with your point about the group reaction. It's just a lot easier for everyone to watch without missing anything.

I swear this fanbase is fucking idiots.. Watch the damn SUB and don't watch Kakashi Gaiden until it AIRS IT does not flow better, I swear these American fans y'all have are ruining the experience im sure Hunter or whoever would not be proud of this. I guarantee you do a 10 episode sub watch and you will like better than the dub. Sub= The attacks sound better, the word play sounds better, Naruto has a better voice it actually will sound more mature,

Ummm lol. I think the Kakashi Gaiden piece should be left for when it appears on the show. Watching it early will probably confused you and leave a lot of things unanswered for a good while lol. On top of that, it’ll spoil a few things. Now with DUB/SUB, I’ve watched both and honestly you could go either way with it, however I must advise that the SUB does provide a bit more emotion and affect. DUB does a fine job, I personally just really enjoy the voices to some character in English.

for someone who has ADHD and Autism I can not focus to watch subs, it is physically impossible for me but you guys do whatever makes you happy, your reactions is what gets me through my own anxiety and depression I deal with on a daily basis so as long as you guys are happy I too am happy ^^.

Definitely the gaiden first, Kishimoto's intention was to have it there and it probably wasn't even his call to have it placed so far ahead in the show. It fits perfectly in the beginning and makes the most sense.

It’s been years since I watched shippuden, so I had to look up what kakashi gaiden was. Now that I know, I definitely say wait and watch it when it comes up in the anime, not at the beginning. It gives too much story too soon to appreciate it. I much prefer the way you learn little tidbits as the show progresses.

I don’t have a problem with them watching KG early but I think most people would agree that their first reaction to Shippuden should be the first episode. I want to see their initial reactions to the different OST’s and just the overall feel of the first episode of Shippuden compared to og naruto. Maybe an alternative could be if they watch KG earlier, do it when the first filler arc is supposed to start.

I completely agree. I suggest watching KG+episode 1 at the same time just to set the tone. Part of the problem is that many plot points regarding the events of KG are not addressed in full until later, in this way, the show does it better. If you watch KG early, just remember to constantly empathize with Kakashi's past in viewing who he is currently. Also, I watched Naruto with Subs, but since the Normies started with Dubs, I believe they should continue with them. Part of character is the voice, doesn't make sense to change it now.

bruh there is a reason why they did it different from the manga! For real believe me when I say it´ll be much better if you just watch it as it aired, by then you guys will be much more into the show and love Kakashi even more. Please dont watch it before, it´ll only hype you up and then afterwards the biggening is kinda slow so you wont be as into it. Mark my words...

Sadly Naruto Shippuden is better in Japanese... They said the numbers wouldn't decide anything but thats exactly what they did. They should have known Dub Voters would win because were in America. They should have watched an episode or 2 in sub so they can see how good it is. Shouldnt watch kakashi gaiden either its kind of spoileryyyyy

If they are watching Naruto Shippuden on Hulu then they only have about 180 or 190 episodes in Dub and everything after that is in Sub
