Someone mentioned she (dynamite victim) was suppose to be Jacob's daughter. They didn't have time so they scrapped the idea. Is this true?

It's gonna be weird to stop following that damn show once again with y'all ! :) But hey, lots of good stuff out there you can check after that... I would personally recommend a new series with just one season to be done with it quickly and not get too late on it (thinking about His Dark Materials or Carnival Row for instance). Otherwise, I'd love for you to keep going with Orphan Black, The Magicians or check 12 Monkeys ! :) Anyways, let's enjoy Lost while it's still here for now !

God, I forgot until this rewatch just how deep into the season that Ilana's death was. I always remember it as being right after "Dr. Linus" because that felt like one of the last episodes where she was heavily involved with the main story and I remember feeling like they never ended up going that deep with her backstory after they opted out of the "She's Jacob's daughter" angle. Literally, every episode drop for about a month or so after that had me thinking to myself, "Okay, THIS must be the one where we lose Ilana" before I finally re-checked after a while to make sure I wasn't going mad.

When we first meet Ilana she was all bandaged up like she was in a fire or explosion. Then Jacob visits her and cures her, like he touched Locke right after his fall, like Jacob tells Dogen he can save his son after his accident, like Juliet's sister is cured from cancer, like Claire's mom comes out of the coma, etc. Then Ilana dies this way, like Jacob extended her life, indeed long enough for her to forgive Linus, bring the crew together. Rest in pieces Ilana.

A key observation in the hospital scene is that Jacob is wearing gloves - he touches her with his bare hand and it’s very much emphasised that the touch is enough, hence why he must be very particular about who he touches

I was thinking the same exact thing! S6 is the season I have rewatched the least amount of times, so after Dr. Linus I was expecting her to blow in ep 8 or 9 or even 10. Totally forgot it happened this much later. Still a bit of wasted character potential I think but they wrote it in a thought provoking way having Ben questioning her usefulness to the island being done.
