there were quite a few hints if you go back and watch the show with the knowledge of Thomas and Flint's relationship. its the whole reason he became a pirate.

I think it needs to be clarified - Captain Flint is bisexual. Him kissing Thomas didn't mean he wasn't with Mrs Barlow. He was with both of them. In my eyes, he loved Mrs Barlow and wanted her, but he was in love with Thomas. Thomas and his wife were platonic, but they also loved each other. simply put, it was polyamory.

I know it's easy to forget, especially since when a male character kisses another make character it typically means they're gay and were previously passing as straight, but flint and Barlow kissed in the carriage and have had sex on screen (season one I think?). He loved them both - Barlow was just reminding him that he and Thomas were IN love.

Gay men can also have sex with women. Flint has been a gay character since the show started. That actors that played Flint and Barlow knew that before the first episode.

Big episode! So glad it's finally here!! I guessed Thomas was gay in that scene with Mrs. Barlow and Flint in the carriage, she obviously loved and revered her husband and she was so quick to cheat? No way, makes no sense.

Just wanna announce that everyone's been pretty gentle about correcting me on the whole Flint is gay thing. I'm super appreciative of that! I'm a little sad, because bisexual men in media is so rare, but I think he's biromantic/ deeply cares for Miranda. There's a bond there.

yo this was literally the same reaction as they had to the end of skam s1 lol! love miranda-flint-thomas and the best part is there are all these hints and actions trough s1/s2 (the book, how they talk about him, then flashbacks etc) that makes so much sense and you didn't understand why they got in certain fights or how he was mentioned. brilliant storytelling and can't wait for more. now i will finally sleep lmao

There's quite a few hints about Flint if you rewatch scenes between him and Miranda from season 1. Or him and Thomas this season. Once you know where the story is going it's super obvious on rewatches. 😂

Don't know if it was mentioned but Jack Rackham was a real life pirate. The Jolly Roger, the famous pirate flag with the skull and crossed swords, was said to have been designed and used by his crew.

I really find funny how much you guys moralize pirates. At a fundamental level they are all fucking terrible people. They loot, kill, rape ect. Not liking flint (he’s an incredibly interesting character) because he isn’t a super hero is kinda silly
