Kinda surprised no one has pointed it out yet, but plenty of us mentioned way back in episode 21 how there was foreshadowing of this. Back during the killua vs illumi fight, illumi literally told kil that kil will refuse to fight someone who is stronger because he "drilled [that lesson] into him" while pointing directly at his forehead where the needle was. And now here we are 70 episodes later finding out that he meant it literally.. gj togashi
