Just a little heads up concerning DBZA even though you're still on the namek saga: Team Four Star has decided not to abridge the Bojack movie that takes place after the cell saga becuase they haven't been able to find anything from that movie that could be parodied off of

This is what turned me off to DBS, Vegeta gets knocked off the ring cause he does not have enough energy to even turn base super saiyan. After he fires a FF with all that he has left, he suddenly has enough energy for Goku to turn Blue right away. I was like WTF why didnt he turn Blue if he had that amount? Luv you guys :D

I always thought it was more of his body not being able to handle the power required to go blue anymore. Idk. In my opinion i like the thought of Vegeta wanting to fight all he can, but his body is way too beat up to handle it, and all that energy would go to waste if he continued to endure, so he might as well give all he has left to Goku.
