Oh! Not a spoiler, and I don't know how far ahead y'all are right now, but there's a 1 week "hiatus" that always happens after week 5 in SKAM. Usually the episodes are consecutive weeks after another, but episode 6 is the only one that has a week break before it (after episode 5). Just an fyi in that it helps with understanding the context of where the main POV character is in that episode.

I love everytime you have to say "please support the official Skam..." and you never know what to say after because there is no official Skam channel anywhere lmao

Maria Buka

Btw Isak lying instead of just saying "I don't feel like coming, you go" was stupid but to be fair, I don't think his brain was capable of much thinking when he was hanging out at his crush home and flirting with him, he just wanted to be left alone lmao

Ann

Oh, the locker. In Norwegian the word for locker is the same as closet and also the same used if somebody is in the closet. So pay attention to Isak and his locker.

Henrik Schröder

Ah, the tension! The anticipation! NOW KISS! NOOO!!! NOORA?!? YEEEES!!! :-D

Anonymous

FYI they are 16/17 years old and in the first semester of 2.year of high school. Even is a little bit older tho

Anonymous

lol your reactions at the end when they almost kissed and when Noora showed up lmaooooo almost exactly like mine except I was mad at Noora for not waiting 2 seconds to come in

Astute observation from Marketa, there are a lot of similar digits in the time points this season, and it means something. Also, you should pay attention to song lyrics, as they also carry meaning :)

Just to give you guys some perspective from experience, I can only speak for myself and some friends that I've had conversations with but Isak is a character that is extremely relatable for a lot of gay guys, especially those of us who are very different from the gay stereotypes. You hear friends and other people calling stuff gay like it's negative or calling people f*gs from a very young age (like 7 or 8 in my case) and even before puberty and realizing your sexuality you get conditioned to realize that a lot of people around you are homophobic even if just unintentionally. I don't know if you noticed but last episode Isak's friend Mahdi, when Isak was reluctant to accept Emma's invitation, said, "What the fuck , are you totally gay or what?" In the season 1 when Eva, Jonas, and Isak go to the cabin and Jonas' friend shows up he says, "Why do I have to share a room with the gay guy." Nobody around you says anything to condemn the words, which makes it even worse. Comments like those don't stick with most people but when you're gay yourself they hit you super hard. I'm sure Isak, like I did, heard stuff like that every other day and before you even acknowledge your sexuality to yourself, you try and lock it away and pretend it's not there and as a result you get used to and into a habit of lying to yourself and the people around you very quickly, especially in cases like Isak's where it's not "obvious" that you're gay since you don't fit the stereotypes. I remember in highschool flirting with girls that I liked personality-wise and thinking dating them would be ok, I didn't think I was leading them on at all I actually thought I could make it work out because of naivety, fear, and desperation. The habits of caually lying to yourself and others as a defense-mechanism can persist for many years and really mess you up as you beome an adult. Keep in mind, this happened to me with an extrememely liberal family and friends. Some of my Mom and Dad's best friends that I've known since I was a baby were gay and they've always made it very clear that it was ok. But even in cases like mine, that can't shield you from other people you meet or prevent it from affecting you, let alone a case like Isak's. Sorry for the rant, just wrote it in hopes that you might understand him a bit better and also not be too hard on him when it comes to leading on Emma a bit. Also, not a spoiler since it is never directly stated in the show, but Even is pansexual.

About the pre-party. In Norway, alcohol is very expensive, but the prices in bars and pubs are ridiculous. About 10 usd for a 0,5l beer. About 12 usd for a drink. This is why pre-parties take off that much, because there is no way you can afford getting drunk in a bar.

Cc

As a Norwegian I can confirm pre parties are pretty hard, mostly cause buying drinks in bars and such is SO expensive, so students rather get drunk at the pre party and maybe only buy 1 or 2 drinks at the bar :)

Elise

Me too, I was not happy to se Noora at that point at all. Why couldn't she have waited 5 seconds. She stole the attention. Now it's all about Isak!❤😂

Elise

I don't think it's fair to say that Isak is leading Emma on. He is working so hard, trying to accept him self. Feeling unsure of him selv for having other feelings than what's considered as "normal". So I strongly feel that he is flirting with Emma to try to find it in him self to fall in love with her. It is actually really sad in my opinion. That he is so afraid of being himself and show his friends and family who he really is. But I love when Even is putting Emma on her place with telling her about generalising. I feel that that also helped Isak understand that he doesn't have to have a specific personality or anything. And I feel he really needed that.❤

Julie Andem, the writer, director and creator of Skam is a true genius. She builds up a scene in a way that makes you feel the protagonists feelings. Love that! And all the symbolism, like the Jesus t-shirt, the problems with the locker (closet), the time (03:03, 11:11, 21:21) to reflect on the gay theme. So simple and low key, but with high impact! She is an amazing artist. And she loves to fuck with our minds, but never our hearts!

Elise

You was laughing and talking about Isak lying and leading Emma on in the beginning. Did you catch that when Madhi ask Isak why he ditched them he said it was because of his mum. And Madhi is just talking about his own mother but Jonas knows about Isak’s mother. So his taking the time to ask if she is ok. Isak is not telling the truth right now obviously. But Isak’s mother is not well, and Isak is suffering from that. Also afraid to be his true self because he is afraid of his mother’s reaction and to not be accepted. It is so sad.

j-l

exactly! i don’t know if they remember but in season 1 when eva goes to confront isak she meets jonas and he tells her that isak is upset. eva asks him why and jonas tells her that isak’s parents just split up, that his mom had a breakdown and that “she was already pretty crazy before”, implying that she’s not well. so isak has been struggling with his mom for a while. in the beginning of this episode, even tho i think jonas suspects that isak is lying, he’s still worried and asks him how she’s doing cause he knows isak is struggling with his mom’s situation.

I love how you phrased that, fuck with our minds but never our hearts 💕

tova~

yeah, isak is 17 (16 in s1), and even is two years older than isak, the same age as william

Elise

Yes, the lyrics in Call your girlfriend for example when the boys is kissing the girls and looking at each other. I'm not sure if they draw the line from that text to the story but that song speaks really clearly...😅❤

Chris” I never wanted 2 dudes to make out so bad in my life " I laughed so hard 😂😂

I watch it on dailymotion. I don’t think it’s available legally outside of Norway.
