We want you to know that we plan on watching the series in the Japanese SUB after watching the first three episodes.  So bare with us with the first three after that we plan to pivot.

Seven Deadly Sins! I'm hyped! Definitely went into watching this anime not even interested with my gf but she thought it would be nice. The story totally right hooked me and completely let me fall in love with it with all the well written characters.

The show isn't perfect but I found the first season to be very enjoyable. It's just lighthearted fun throughout that you don't have to take seriously at all. Meliodas has no chill.

The animation boosts it up a bit, I think the presentation and the fantasy elements are what people like more than the series specifically. Fun characters too (at the cost of truly compelling writing). For me it's hard to even get past the juvenile, ignorant sexual "humor" and the addiction to maintaining the status quo by dragging developments along. Damn I just talked a lot of shit, sorry.

Good anime. Is it great, far from it. Is it terrible, not at all. Enjoyable, most of the time. Confusing, some of the times. Cliche, yeah, sometimes. I'd give it a 7/10 on a fair scale(8/10 on an IMDB scale).

I'm glad they gave the dub a shot, even if they didn't stick to it. Honestly I feel the dub is cast better and the humour is a little easier to digest. Especially when it comes to the Greed Sin and the Lion Sin. Show is still a pretty mixed bag in any language though.

SDS story is the driving factor, and even if you don't see it until tens of episodes later, I promise there is a large, overarching plot that will be playing out but never apparent.

I watched the show and I did not like it at all. Won't say more than that to not offend anyone. I understand that some people enjoy this show and it won so I'll continue to watch to support the normies and patiently wait for the next show hoping it will be something that I enjoy.

Just to state some defenses for the show, first of all the first several episodes are by a MASSIVE margin worse than the rest of the story. Heck, I’d even say that the entire first season is a just terrible example of the story as a whole. Secondly, to address some of the points the Normies and commenters brought up, there are factors at play between Meliodas and Elizabeth that the story takes a while to get into. Suffice to say that his groping her didn’t bother her, and more importantly he did know that it wouldn’t. Which is related to ‘weird attitude’ you guys were pointing out about Elizabeth just meeting him like 15 minutes ago. There are plot reasons behind these things. The story just takes an arguably awkward length of time to point these reasons out.

I kept hoping it would eventually get better as so many people claimed it would, but it just didn't for me. All of the problems it had in the beginning were still there. Generic world, generic story, generic characters. This feels so mediocre when compared to other modern shounen, specially MHA. If you ever have to go through an entire season of show for it to finally "get good", then I got some news for you guys, the show is not good. The problem in that logic comes from how anime seasons are set-up in the first place. The fact is that the actual storyline of Seven Deadly Sins just doesn't start until the end of the first season. Because the first arc (what they made the first season out of) of the story mainly serves as introduction for the events that follow. For all intents and purposes what you're saying is that you didn't finish the prologue. Granted the anime is pretty poorly made (especially the english voice-acting, ugh), so I can't really blame someone who's only watched it.

This one's definitely more of a binge show. It doesn't get decent until episode 8 or 9 IMO. Then it's just an OK show. There's some cool fights, interesting backstories, and nice plot intertwining/callbacks that piqued my interest enough to be on the look out for season 3.
