Matt Berry!!! Community is always on point with its celebrity cameos.  This week we learn a thing or 2 about Grifting.  What is the approval process for pitching new courses at Greendale?  Is Annie's boobs running that department?

The Sting is one of my favourite movies. I'm hyped for this reaction. If you haven't seen it, check it out, it's great

Did the grifting professor reference Childish Gambino? "Because the internet"

I legit thought the professor was Jemaine Clement from What We Do In The Shadows (the movie version) and Legion... turns out he's Matt Berry who unbeknownst to me is in the TV show version of What We Do In The Shadows, which I haven't found the time to watch yet. Still think they look alike when Jermaine has a beard and long hair, and have a similar voice and comedy style.

They do not thats not a New Zealand accent and they look diff too

Ryan Ridley is one of the writers for Rick and Morty he also voices a few characters.

I never know how to feel about this episode. It feels underwritten because the grift is bad but that's the point of the episode. Grifts aren't real! Nobody can account for all the variables! The best episode is still to come! And that is not a grift!

Abed’s bit about telling his fake half-sting kids to listen to their mother about grifting and not jeff cracked me up.

Kelly Parks

Yeah, Normies, you gotta see "The Sting". It's a pop culture necessity.

Check out Matt Berry in Toast of London! You guys should put that on the wheel if you still do that. Season 6 is my favorite season of Community, glad you’re all appreciating it! The last four episodes of it are my favorite, and the best of them, to my taste, is the next one: Basic RV Repair & Palmistry. If you remember the part of Jeff’s series premiere speech that’s about Abed, this episode shows you what he means by passing the soup.

Also a story editor for Community, and has been a guest in Harmontown at least a time to two (I want to say).

It’s maybe my least favorite of season 6. I don’t know why exactly either. I suspect, though, that it has something to do with the Matt Berry part. I love Matt Berry, but he does kind of do the same thing in every role (with his eccentric intonations and his nihilistic, grandstanding, insane characterizations). I feel like they wrote this episode to incorporate those qualities rather than asking Berry to play a role that they wrote for the episode — almost as though they had a caricature of a Matt Berry role as a guest star instead of Matt Berry as a guest star. As a fan of his work in British television, I find it hard to watch this Frankenstein graft onto an American sitcom.
