"More awesomeness of SHIELD" Thumbnail has Nahid yawning. 😂🤣

abhi

This is early. I love it

Andrew Courtney

Great reaction. Can’t wait for more.

I love the ending of this episode tbh. I'm glad Jemma's power of love and friendship idea didn't just break the framework and what would've actually happened really did happen. Its frustratingly consistent with her character, but she shouldve known better. At least Fitz is still alive because of it- after all Agnes is the only one who went in there on purpose knowing that Radcliffe was doin shady stuff. Still didn't deserved that tho 😭

olof

I think you mean Mengele and not Goebbels, Chris.

Hey guys I'm a few episodes behind, so I tried to go back and catch up but I can't find episodes 14 & 15, any help?

It warms my heart when you say this is "good television", "let's watch more", and stuff like that.

Jonathan Jones

A.I.D.A. “The A is for Artificial Eat Your Heart Out Ultron” is the ultimate A.I villain

the political tones are very much not subtle in this arc lol i loved it. everyone in this cast is very open about hating the cheeto. and raina and pat back to acting like people who don't like ward are being unreasonable....yeah this ward in the framework isn't the same ward but he's still got the same face it's not that hard to understand where simmons coming from lmao. u guys are just too blinded by your ward love. fitz is my favorite character but i'm not out here saying the doctor is misunderstood. iain de caestecker shines so much in this arc, he is terrifying. fitz is so expressive with his emotions, you can see how he's feeling just by looking in his eyes but with the doctor he's shut it off completely and there's just nothing there. he's so so so good. i know award shows hate superhero shows in general but god he deserved some recognition for this. i love the discussion as always. really looking forward to your reactions to some explanations of certain things. my season finale comment might be a long one lmao.

Gezno

I know this sounds random, but I really want Ian to play an evil Timelord in Doctor Who

Mike Drop

I love the normies spectrum, Pat clenching his fist and smiling and Marketa crying when Fitz pulled the trigger

Christopher simeon

The girl who walked in coulson classroom is played by Clark Gregg daughter. This episode really shows us what Mack was talking about in 4x14. The wall between scientist and mad scientist is paper thin. Fitz is a mad scientist. We have just only seen his ambition, drive, and brilliant mind be used for good and to save people. But this world has twisted that.

Doby Greg

I agree with Pat that Radcliffe made a reasonable choice leaving the frame work to Aida. She's suppose to be a computer and he programmed her. He acted as if she was a roby because that's what she is. We can see the sign because we watch sci-fi movies. But Radcliffe deals in facts not in litteracy tropes. It shouldn't have been fucking up. I don't think most people think their program are sentient. Also Aida didn't mess up. The plan was make the players happy and who cares about the NPCs so hydra being in charge didn't matter.

Kris

I like that Mace's big regret is not trying to be a hero but lying to be a hero. So instead of erasing his role as the Patriot it makes him a genuine Inhuman and erases the lie.

Macy

Even though the Framework arc is good tv, it hurts my soul.

KuzonFire121

The writing and portrayal of the Doctor are so nuanced. Yes, he has his motivations within the Framework as a Hydra superior and Madame Hydra's love interest, but his actions towards 2 of his former teammates this episode have connections to the history of the show. He fails to believe anything Radcliffe is saying based on Radcliffe's betrayal during the LMD arc and his deletion of Agnes is a byproduct of that. He shows a lack of sympathy for Daisy that can be traced back to Daisy force choking Fitz (a person with a known history of brain damage due to a lack of oxygen) during the Hive arc. He basically alludes to this incident when he says "Guess you don't know me at all", reflecting Daisy's sudden change of nature at that time.

Namelessnonnie

I love hate this arc. Its SOOO good, but it hurts my soul. My fitzsimmons heart struggles to get through it every time. haha.

Macy

same, I'm like the biggest Fitzsimmons shipper ever and seeing Fitz not remember her and acting the way he does hurts. As well as the whole Fitz/Aida thing is so gross.

Namelessnonnie

Also it's easy to forget this, but Radcliffe also read the Darkhold, so that has a lot to do with his behaviors towards going into the framework. Also keep in mind that this world is ALL about taking away regrets. So try to ask yourself what was removed from these peoples lives to make them who they are in this world! :D

Bisibia

This is true... it always comes off like this was a Radcliffe master plan from the start, when in reality his mind has been altered by the Darkhold.

Cee

lmao @ Marketa calling Fitz the white Jidenna. I felt like i was the only one that saw that when this first aired

They have no idea what’s coming. Strap in for some top shelf shield writing. #trustinthewriters

Calculatus Eliminatus

Well, he specifically told the Superior. " I do have one regret, that I don't have any super powers of my own, so I could kick your ass."

I love this show so much and this arc is the absolute BEST of an already amazing show. The writers have built such depth into each character over the past 3+ seasons that seeing our favorites behaving in ways that are so diametrically opposed to what we KNOW is their intrinsc personality is jarring and it HURTS. The Framework Arc is an absolute masterpiece in reminding us that getting exactly what we THOUGHT we always wanted (removing a person's biggest regret, which is what the Framework does for those people that RADCLIFFE and AIDA plugged into it) is not always what's best for us or the people around us. May's biggest regret was having to kill a child to save the day. That narrative was changed for her and something even WORSE was the result of it (Cambridge) which has lead to May's hardened heart, but also allowed Hydra to come out of the darkness and "Save the Day" and cast SHIELD as the bad guy for harboring such a dangerous person. That also led to ALL inhumane and potential inhumane beings viewed as subjects who needed to be identified and eliminated. Thus, eliminating May's biggest regret brought on the rise of Hydra and the Gestapo-esque practice of "disappearing" people, neighbors spying on and informing oh each other. Coulson's biggest regret (or questioning of himself) was what would have happened if he'd turned down SHIELD recruitment efforts out of college and he'd become a teacher (like his father? I believe). His innate character is that of a guy who always wants to do the right thing and help make the world a better, safer place. Thus, all the conflict in his psyche to this point. Mac losing his child before she even got to live was awful. His biggest regret, not getting the chance to be her father and see her grow up. He's got her here, but in a world where people live in fear of the government and are terrified they could some day just disappear forever. Jemma and Daisy HACKED their way into the framework, so they get a life of whatever the program created for their avatar. So I don't but there's faced that Ward was big regret. And Fitz? Well, I don't believe the show has shown us what "regret" was changed/eliminated fort him, but I'm sure it go a long way to explaining how we got The Doctor in this world. I LOVE that you guys love the show. I know lots of folks are probably saying WE TOLD YA!! Season 4 may be some of the best television I've ever watched. WHEW, this got long. Sorry.

Jessica

Yeah I mean to Jemma, ward threw her & fitz out of the plane, which led to Fitz getting messed up for a while. He betrayed them and the pain from that cant be put aside so easily. Yeah hes fake, hes different, and in this world he is the good guy, but he is ward. his face, his voice, all of that is the ward she knows. Its hard to have to work with him after all she has been through.

Alvin Cura

The alternate reality of the Framework Arc reminds me of ST:TNG "Yesterday's Enterprise" in every good way. Except with a multi-episode arc. In both cases, there are at least 3 years of investment in the characters to give it weight; and a dystopian world that makes sense when tracked to a single subverted incident. MAOS is just brilliant with these kinds of things, weaving callbacks (like CA:TWS) into a world where we are already invested enough that we think we understand it; and then turn it on its ear. I suppose some could say that about the real world too, actually.

Alvin Cura

I am so in agreement with you that I wouldn't have minded if it got even longer. ;)

Alvin Cura

Also: When Marketa jumped at the gunshot, I literally got smacked upside the head with the feels. Bless your heart.

Look at you guys gushing over the framework’s arc... and the best of this arc is yet to come...

James Avery

If theirs any arc of AOS to blaze through, it’s this one. So good. Another reason why Coulson remembers so easily ( Jenna mentions it) is because his mind has been tampered with before. Hence the notes in the desk.

Mten10th

To answer how Radcliff didn't realize all of the Hydra changes: In episode 15, before Aida killed him, she told him that she had to reset the entire framework after capturing and putting Coulson, Mack, Mace, and Fitz inside. He mentioned that was dangerous because it could have damaged his mind. Also, he was more than likely just preoccupied wit living a happy life with Agnes, and Aida would have imprisoned him on that island shortly after killing his body in the real world. Most importantly, Aida was the one who fully read the Darkhold, so she was in charge of making changes to the Framework.

Griff

Hahaha, Pat is hilarious. Glad Chris knows him well enough to not rage out on him! Dude is a goof!

outdoorcats

I don't know the show ever said this, but I assumed Radcliffe did what he did because he looked into the Darkhold and it poisoned his mind. However, it seems like the framework Radcliffe isn't under the Darkhold's spell, perhaps because the framework Radcliffe never read the Darkhold? Agree or disagree?
