I must say yet again the music in this show just gets me hype AF. I am thoroughly enjoying this part of the show we are on! I just wanted to give you all a heads up on episode 72.  Shehryar, our editor for Naruto, is out of the country for vacation. This is the last episode he edited. Nahid is currently editing episode 72 for you all and it will be up before 5pm today! Will update you all if there are any changes. We are still set for a triple drop of 73 74 75 next week. I do have a suggestion and I’ll throw this out early. The new OP comes out 2 episodes too early. I would suggest skipping the intro for those two episodes (78 & 79) and catching it for 80. It’s not the most important thing in the world but I think it’ll improve your enjoyment of 79 & 80

This is the episode that got me into Naruto. My friend was like, 'you like good animation? hold my beer". and he put this ep on. And my highschool Sakuga obsessed mind was blown out. Glad you guys appreciated the beauty of this ep!!!!!! PS kudos to Chris for immediately noticing the ep's change in quality within the first ...10 seconds??

The Anbu that are watching them fight are supposed to be around medium-high level Jonin and they are amazed at the level of combat they're seeing rn. Shows you the massive difference in skill level when you go from regular Jonin to a Kage level shinobi.

For big fights, they bring in an animator named Norio Matsumoto. The fights he's done so far that you've already seen: Sasuke vs Orochimaru (Forest of Death) and Rock Lee v. Gaara (Chuunin Exam Tourney Round 1).

I know the art style was badass this episode but it is also my least favorite trend in anime. I know the studios save money and use it for the big fights but do they have to make the difference in quality so obvious? It's jarring sometimes. This is really prevalent in the big shonen anime.

Unfortunately yes, it’s hard to make a whole episode in just 1 week. There’s voice acting, translating “subs” ... Storyboarding, Key Animating, In-between animating, Backgrounds, Colors & Effects, probably some more steps that I’m missing.... and all that has to be done before 1 week because Editing is probably the last part and very time consuming. I think TV studios need the episode at least 1 day before hand too. So in reality they have 6 days to do all that. For these big ones they bring a shit ton more freelancers with the budget they save for these episodes, and probably put in a FUCKTON of unpaid overtime hours. The conditions of animators in Japan is well-documented for being horrendous, even to this day with many more employee protection laws in place, and better technology to ease the workload, imagine back then. Episodes like these are the result of going the extra 100 miles. For the show’s purpose, I think it’s better that Big Episodes get most of shine and have the others be mediocre, instead of all episodes being slightly better, but having the ones that need to be great not stand out as much. It’s kind of annoying when people complain that not every episode is as well-done as this one when that is practically impossible with a weekly anime format, and very detrimental health wise to many people in that animation business.

Every now and then for select episodes, they will bring in additional freelance animators to make the episode that much more special. Recall Zabuza vs. Gato and Rock Lee vs. Gaara.

I do not remember all of this happening LOL like this is a lot more fighting than I remember.. And Orochimaru is an anomaly you never know what he could be he is a bad as female though.. Also these are reanimation ninja so they aren't using there full power just so you know

Fun fact 'Saru' means monkey in Japanese and the Third Hokage is part of the Sarutobi clan. His summoning being a monkey was destined.
