Yep Walter is too smart, too empirical and rational, but lacks common sense and awareness, it's why he never went anywhere in life and resented not fulfilling his potential. Walt is all chemistry and no soul, not anymore anyway.

Yeah he fights everything with logic. Unless everything is planned out and coordinated for him he will not perform well. He needs assurance and cannot operate on his gut feeling or general common sense.
