Hunter X Hunter started March 3, 1998 and Naruto was September 21, 1999. The Naruto Pilot was 1997.

Agree with everyone here, this intro is pure iconic. And ALSO, the intro slightly changes as important stuff in the arc goes on. Naruto's other iconic openings, the 4th and 5th ones, update their openings with subtle changes too! Also love Rana just holding the phone the whole time and smiling LOL

Naruto's second OP is its best OP. I remember downloading fan-subs from the original airing in Japan. The wait for episode 27 was unreal, people in the US (like me) started to wonder what's up with the longer delay because there was a month long break, kind of like a mid-season break.

Yeahhh i would honestly recommend avoiding reading comments since i think the online fandom has some very strongly set opinions on the characters, and as someone who watched it without any influence from them i still dont understand a lot of the mainstream opinions/preferences lol. Don’t feel like you have to try and like or dislike a character just because long time fans insist on it (not saying you guys are doing that currently, but i get how it might be hard to tune out)
