this was the episode where they finally start making that turn in the right direction. . .if they had take the cheesy way out with a last minute rescue of the randoms it woulda killed the show. . . the death of the 300 was the turning point for the show. . sad as that is

Marketa - the reason they sent the 100 was to have a wide test group to keep track of what happened to the human body on earth. One person is not a real test, because they may decay slower or faster than the average person. It's not as though a scientist could gather samples and do tests. I doubt they have the resources for that. They'd need a pilot as they'd need to somehow return to the Arc. Might as well use an expendable test group.

Season one is cringy, but I generally give season one a pass because I think it's quite impressive the amount that it managed to set up. I also loved the last few episodes of season one. Good drama.

I literally resubscribed to you guys just because of the 100. I was just like Mickey when I started watching it but holy hell does it get heavy quick. The moral dilemmas this show explores are what really hooked me into it. The world of The 100 really envelopes you as you want to see how all the dark scenarios that it introduces play out. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how you all react to it! :)

Nah, they believed that they would die within hours of being on Earth, and the people in charge just didn't want to waste oxygen on people in jail cells. Abby probably didn't really believe that they could survive either, but she convinced herself there was a chance because she felt guilty. The wrist monitors were just an idea to make them feel less guilty about sending kids to their death, and possibly get a little bit of information about how radioactive the earth still is based on how fast they died.
