This arc of the show is awesome. For the Normies: There is a show on Hulu called The Misfits. It’s an awesome show. I recommend you guys watch the trailers on Hulu or YouTube for season one. Imagine delinquents in their 20s receiving powers.

I've always felt like the Land of Waves arc is especially tedious when it comes to unnecessary flashbacks during the fights, it gets a bit better later on. This show is great, it has a lot more depth and wisdom than it would seem, but sometimes it gets just haard to watch. It's worth it, though.

Naruto is known for having a ton of flashbacks, but I had forgotten just how many.

Yeah the slow pacing and the repeated scenes and CONSTANT flashbacks are going to make for interesting reactions. There are better fight scenes though, don’t worry. But that replaying the end of the last episode in the beginning of the next episode happens a lot, especially since this was released on a week to week basis (so they could remind the viewer of where things left off). I’d love it if someday they re-edited the entire series to fix that. In an official capacity. But a lot of the fights are on YouTube where he uploader has edited them to be more watchable, if anyone is interested in that. Luckily the story is good enough that the pacing issues don’t detract too badly from the show.

Ya'll better get ready lol. Naruto is kind of known for its flashbacks. But it's also known for it's crazy fight choreography, so just hang in there. Things get awesome, especially after this arc (though this one is still cool).

Welcome to the show of Delayed Gratification. Sometimes it moves PAINFULLY slow but the high points are worth it, you all have so many epic moments to watch, you just have to trudge through the long still shots and over explanations lol

Masashi Kishimoto is known for not being able to make good female characters. They don't usually have good characterization or any real depth. I promise it does get better after a while haha Naruto does get some really cool female characters and the ones we do know are developed as well. And oh my god, as a kid, I was definitely annoyed with how these episodes were paced. Most of each episode were flashbacks and only 5-10 minutes of new content! But now that I'm re-watching it as an adult, it's WAY more annoying lmao I'm sorry you guys have to suffer through these slow episodes haha But you know, the cool actions sequences in between the slow make it worth it, for me anyway XD I always enjoy your reactions! Wednesdays are my favorite part of the week because I get HunterxHunter and Naruto! Love you guys! Hope you had a great Christmas!

I think its important to point out that the author of this series was terrible at writing female characters and he always says that about himself. It might be hard to spot interesting female characters in naruto compared to other series.

Naruto had already transformed..Thats why Sasuke reacted and said "oh thats your plan" when he held the shuriken he sensed that it was naruto

I swear if they re-released naruto condensed to like 100 episodes with updated animation it would be a huge hit.

It is going to be funny to see them get annoyed by the padding in this series. This anime going to have a ton flashbacks. It is going to take a while to get through some stuff. After this arc some flashbacks do at least move the story along and give actual background information on characters that explains their motivations. It is going to be a rough ride in this arc.

I think yall said you cant skip around to make it easier on the editors but you might have to lol Naruto like DBZ likes to drag things out but instead of dragging it out through one long powerup they use flashbacks or long talks with the villain with flashbacks and its honestly more enjoyable if you give yourself the option to skip a few flashbacks

Naruto eps are 15 minutes they retell the last episode and and everything gets dragged out

Yeah, I stopped watching the anime around that time =P The pace is SO slow =P Tha manga was way better =P. I don't know if it gets better with time, but I'll watch it with you!

The pacing of these last 2 episodes is definitely some of the worst in the entire series. Next episode as well, kind of, though not nearly as bad. As you already know things really pick up after the next few, and then... then this first arc has a very climactic and satisfying ending that makes sitting through episodes like these, WORTH IT 😬👍

Well I watched penty of Naruto at 2x, but you shouldn't fast forwad in the first couple arcs. The show has cadence to it, some stuff is skipable and some stuff isnt, you should learn it before you start skipping ahead or you will miss key points. One big clue for skippable scenes is whenever Sauske starts speaking, skip aheaad. Besides we all had to suffer through it and so should you.

Oh. If you think NARUTO’S anime is slow. One Piece practically moves at erosion’s pace. Two and a half minutes of opening song, NINE minutes worth of recap, five to ten minutes of pans or reused footage, and two and a half minutes of ending song. Anime originally made in the 90s were not known for fast paced episodes.

Flashback no Jutsu!!!!! Watch the Naruto Kai videos, they cut out a lot of the recaps

Yeaaahhh.... you're going to get very sick and tired of the constant flashbacks and still shots. Animes did not have the budget they do now back then. Naruto is pretty much 5 minutes of new material per episode and the rest is still shots, flashbacks and intros/outros.

Don't let the flashbacks get to you. It can feel redundant and tedious, but the overall show is great and this is the beginning of the show and is where Kishimoto really didn't know what he was doing with it hence all of the vague rhetoric. He had a bit of an idea of the world composition and characters, but nothing solid on direction. Sasuke "I want to kill a certain someone" Uchiha, Naruto "Believe it" Uzumaki, and the whole "Lets do a random C-rank mission for blank village" are good references to that. Both very important characters, but at this point in the show since its the beginning Kishi is still thinking well wtf am I doing with all of this. He's also notoriously bad at female character writing and admits it hence Sakura "I only think about Sasuke" Haruno. But she gets a lot better along the way, especially in Shippuden, which I really hope you guys end up enjoying this show enough to transition over to.

Watching this is so weird since i recently finished shippuden which has a wayyyy higher budget for animation/soundtrack and the pacing is definitely improved. But og naruto is still fun, when i watched the next arc me and my friends would literally be screaming at the one on one fights like we were dads watching football. I kind of see this og naruto as a prequel to shippuden overall though

oh and a lot of the animes people recommend over naruto are actually boring ngl. There is a reason this show got so popular despite the horrible animation/pacing issues initially
