This episode was basically bringing back a lot of plot points that seemed like nothing at the time (gold-tooth, furher candidates and laboratory 5) in a major way and showing that father has spent the past 400 years plotting out every nook and cranny and making sure there are no loopholes out of his plan to become the perfect being as he mentioned he wants to be the last 2 episodes

Also another insane detail that was brought back- back in episode 21, Hawkeye mentioned in passing that the passageway underneath Lab 3 curved. This episode is the payoff of that detail,as we now know it’s curved due to the citywide transmutation circle.
