Time to take a look back and reflect upon this series! 10/10 would purchase Varrick's remake of the Korra franchise starring Bolin as Nuk Tuk playing Bolin! This is definitely not as strong as Ember Island Players from ATLA but I still enjoyed looking back on the series through the lens of our characters. Mako has grown a lot from how he views his female friendships haha. Korra still had much needed encouragement from Tenzin and Asami. Steve Blum was luckily on hand as the firebender rebel character to lend his voice as Amon again! All in all a funny episode but we're ready to see what is next. Enjoy this reaction and thank you for supporting our channel and allowing us to keep producing content for you!

The Legend of Korra - 4x8 Remembrances - Group Reaction

It's a recap episode! Not much to say about this one other than the fact that we found it hilarious the creator's all decided to do an Adult Swim/Robot Chicken-esque parody of Amon, Vaatu, Unalaq and Zaheer!

It was a budget cut nick screwed the whole avatar franchise up

Fano

This is a waste of an episode. Double drop us today?

Alec Campo

Unfortunately this is when nick did a huge budget cut to the series. So it was either this episode or they would have to fire half of their staff. Wish we got to see what this episode could have been. Really hate Nickelodeon.

What episode are you guys currently on right now?

Anonymous

Would be nice to have a double upload because of this filler episode.

Anonymous

They where not defending the love triangle they where make fun of it lol

Anonymous

Maybe we should have warned them about filler episode ahead last week

I prefer Ember Island Players over this anytime. “Remembrances” seems way too rushed and had poor writing.

Anonymous

Nick cut their budget so it was either make a cheaper episode recycling animation, or make one episode less

Kanan Jarrus

I seem to be in a minority of people who really liked this episode.

Does anyone know where they got the ending orchestral music? It's fantastic and doesn't sound like the original music from the show.

olof

"Glad I caught you at home". Cracks me up every time.

Raymond Strand

The scene in the next episode where Korra visits you know who is so good.

Half true. From listening to the creators, there were never threats of staff cuts, but they did receive a budget cut while still being ordered to get the same amount of episodes out. They realized they couldn't afford it so had to do this clip-show to make the numbers add up.

Joseph Sanchez

One of the creators of the show posted an entry on his Tumblr when this episode first aired explaining the situation they were in and why they ended up making a fairly generic clip episode. http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/103173899927/a-few-preemptive-words-about-episode-408

“We all remember the love triangle, in fact we tried to forget it” omg I’m laughing this was my thoughts exactly. Anyway I liked Bolin/Varrick’s segment, could’ve done without the love triangle refresher but am glad Mako’s main character flaw was articulated clearly, and am hoping we can see Korra win more after this now that she has a little confidence boost lol

Kay Bee Baby

I just love the villain phone call. Nick fucked so much with this show.

This episode was supposed to be a backstory of Kuvira’s past but then Nickelodeon came

Anthony

Varrick's voice actor is killing it.

SER

I wished that they hadn't glossed over Asami bringing Korra tea and Korra saying "you're so sweet"

Jose

Not to say that I don't like Varrick, but I feel like Varrick's "funny" story was my least favorite and had some cringe moments that I certainly wasn't enjoying it whatsoever. His story just ruins all the storyline from the previous three seasons. Compared to Varrick's story, Korra's story has to be my favorite one of all because it really emphasizes her character development and her accomplishments.

Jose

you mean the sad and emotional music from the final episode?

Joseph Mchenry

they had to make this episode because Nickelodeon cut their budget. Bryan and Mike either had to fire some of their current staff or do a clip show episode. The chose the latter.

Lalisa Truong

Just so you know, Mike and Bryan are the types that don't like clip shows. In this case though, as a lot of people have already pointed out, they were basically forced to make this one when their S4 budget was cut to an episode's worth. It was either a clip show or firing some of their staff early, and they chose the former because they weren't callous enough to fire their staff. It's no Ember Islands, but I think they did the best they could and I did enjoy a lot of moments in this episode, especially Varrick's segment and them just making fun of the show overall.
