I like how opposite Korra is now of her Season 1 self. "Fighting is something the old me did." Wow I never thought I'd hear her say those words. Korra is lost and definitely needs to find herself again. As I am currently doing on my own right now lol. I watch way too much TV I keep seeing myself in the characters... Enjoy 4x5!

Kuvira wanting to share Zaofu's prosperity with the rest of the world? Hmm... Where have I heard that before? *Thinks back to ATLA* Oh right! Sozin wanted to share the Fire Nation's prosperity with the rest of the world too!! Korra was so easily manipulated by Kuvira this episode. I don't blame her though since Kuvira basically threw her "inaction" for the past 3 years in her face. I believe it's why right after Korra got the remaining poison out, we see her immediately wanting to go to the action. Go to the action in order to start making up for lost time and be the Avatar again. Korra's first time trying to really solve things diplomatically ...and it didn't go so well lol! It's definitely a contrast to what she would usually do first though, so she's at least trying. Props to that! GASP! Zhu Li does the thing!!

If you look back on Legend of Korra and even parts of The Last Airbender, the use of 3d animation over cartoon animation is prominent mostly on technology. ie the firebender tanks, Sato-mobiles, air ships and mechs

Yeah, in general 3D is cheaper then hand drawn animation, especially robots work very well that way because they are simpler then human movement.

It's funny how when Korra used to just go in and fight people said that she should use diplomacy and then when she tries diplomacy everyone just wants her to fuck some shit up. But I get it. Fact is the politics of the situation are super complicated and Korra is coming in when emotions between Su and Kuvira are at an all time high. Kuvira is right in one aspect: Su did fuck up by not helping when she had the power and ability to. She has some responsibility for the rise of Kuvira because of her inaction.

Seeing this again now the whole “let’s share Zaofu” sounds so much like “let’s share Wakanda”. The parallels are real.

not really, I remember that air bender contraption that was in book 1 g in which korra wasn't able to pass through. That was also animated in 3D.

In my opinion, I think Suyin was not her fault. She could have impeded all this, but she had her own reasons. She knew they would seem as conquerors, rather than peacemakers uniting the nation. She is not selfish rather than taking precaution on what would have taken over her once the world leaders would have made her the provisional leader of the Earth Kingdom. What would have happened if Suyin would have had that power and control on such a vast nation. She probably would have mislead her feelings to another dark side which is what Kuvira has done.

I think Suyin is very selfish. I mean, not just because she didn't decide to share the progressiveness of her city with the rest of the Earth Kingdom and stabilize it, but also because she waited to intervene until Kuvira came to attack HER. She knew what Kuvira was doing but didn't act to stop it, because it wasn't her problem

Yeah Korra wouldn't have been able to stop this. The Earth Kingdom has been fucked up for centuries. btw Ba Sing Se has descended into chaos multiple times throughout history. Just goes to show you the problems there run deep

From a game Artist's perspective I can quite safely say that the 3D animation was probably on the one side a test, to see how well they could implement it ( and I think they did a decent job at it actually, that shit's diiiifiicult) and secondly, because it is quite a bit more cost effective. The drawing itself is quite time consuming (especially all the other stuff like coloring, hardlines etc etc. Models can easily be moved and re-used. Especially if we're looking at a numerous amount of the same asset in different locations with different movements.
