Aye yo! Book 4 starts TODAY! ENTER KUVIRA AND HER BAD ASSNESS! We are currently binging the FUCK out of Book 4 because a couple of us are going out of town for a bit. For this reason there may not be double drops this season at least until the final two episodes if we do decide to do it this season.

What a great premiere to a book! I echo Nahid's sentiments on this being my fave premiere so far just because we had a lot of catching up to do and a much needed time jump! Korra was only on screen for about 1 minute and that is all the time we needed to understand what she is going through and what place she is at right now. Hope you are ready for the FINAL BOOK of the Avatar series that we will ever react to! That is until Bryke decide to make an edgy live action Earth Bending series... Hopefully Nickelodeon sees the opportunity there to have a more mature, even more adult themed version of Avatar out there. What do you yall think? I think we need an Earth bending avatar series that takes place MANY years after Korra... Not the direct continuation right after her but years in the future.

Man, remember how loud and proud she used to be whenever it came to her Avatar title? Looks like she's pulling an Aang now :( Fun fact: Kuvira is voiced by Zelda Williams, Robin Williams' daughter.

for me, kuvira is the most talented fighter in the entire avatar series. Both ATLA and korra. She may not be the most powerful or destructive... but in terms of talent, proficiency, accuracy, speed, she is the best.

About a new Earth Avatar Series — well kinda, there would be a new novel entitled the Rise of Kyoshi. It will revolve around Avatar Kyoshi's life and it will be released next year. Fun Fact: If you look closely, the "metal bender trooper" uniform was the one Varrick was testing in Episode 6, Season 3 "Old Wounds". Also, these "metal bender soldiers" were designed to resemble the Stormtroopers in the Star Wars franchise. Why you ask? You'll know when you reach Episode 3. As always great reaction, can't wait for the next episode.

Kuvira was the Captain of the Zaofu City Guard, not just some badass guard, but a badass captain guard. She was also in Suyin's dance troupe when Korra and pals entered Zaofu for the first time.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Earth Kingdom at the end of Book 3 was in total chaos, literal burning. There obviously was no leader or government for 3 years because Prince Wu, next in line, is still really really young. In times of chaos, the military does restore order. Kuvira was captain of the guards, super talented, and had the skill, resources, and training to establish order. Stepping up to the plate doesn't make her malevolent. She obviously always had a desire to help, whether it is fighting Zahir, saving Korra's dad, and even volunteering for the dangerous mission of rescuing Korra and the air benders form the Red Lotus. Of course, what do they say about power and absolute power...?

FYI, if you do a double drop, PLEASE do Episode 8 and 9! Episode 8 is a clips-episode. The creators came out and said they were contractually obligated to have a certain number of episodes, but they didn't have the budget to maintain their quality standard. In order to have enough money for the finale, they did episode 8. It just uses clips from old shows and some original animation that is SUPER LOW QUALITY. I think it would be a shame if that was the only drop that week.

I think I read somewhere that it was Asami who created the air ending suits, it was a scene or something that was just cut out. Great reaction as always, I'm sad it's nearly over but I'm super looking forward to your reactions to a lot of these episodes.

Kuvira works for the earth kingdom, she is trying to unite the earth kingdom that was thrown into chaos after the earth queen's death. She have to hand over to prince wu after he gets corronated.

Those bandits attacked Kuvira in the beginning. They were intelligent enough to know when she will be passing and gained forces to strike at that point. Why wouldn't they have plane to attack Kai and opal, especially since the earth kindom palace was ransacked in season 3 after the earth queen died; they could have acquired a plane then or bought parts from several people to create one. Plus as a story it's more compelling if Kuvira actually is in the right and she actually is trying to put a stop to the bandits rather than supplying them in order to gain control. It makes that conversation with the mayor of that small town more engaging since she is speaking truth to him, he will suffer if he doesn't do the right thing and have her protect them from the rogue bandits. And knowing how Korra is with their villains making sure they are in some way trying to do what is right but in a extreme way I think it makes sense.

Yeah, I don't really think that Kuvira was helping the bandits. Part of the reason I think so is because of her personality and character. She's very confident in her own strength and leadership, so that type of trick doesn't really fit her forceful style. It doesn't necessarily make her actions that much better, but it does help show the kind of person she is.

An important thing to keep in mind while watching what Korra goes through this season is to remember what happened at the end of season 3 while she was being poisoned. It was pure torture, she was forced to experience all her doubts and fears almost come true; that if she, the Avatar, died the world would be thrown out of balance, all because of her weakness. She was forced to relive every main villain explaining why a world without her would be a better one. She was literally tortured and certainly has ptsd to work out.

Korra mastered all of the elements except air as a toddler/kid. Remember book one. She has always been proficient so to see how far the mighty can fall is what really makes her story very sad at this point. Reminds me of what Azula's arch could have been if they had discussed mental illness in more depth. I hate that it is ending so soon. I really enjoyed these avatar reactions. They are the reason I joined patreon. Anyway, looking forward to the next show. Oooh, double drops would be nice...

She also appeared in Zaofu's newspapers. Specifically that scene when Lin Beifong was reading one newspaper and Kuvira was in it. She also appeared many time while Zaofu was attacked by the Red Lotus.

Kuvira has such a great intimidation and power in terms of her speaking skills. She frightens people and make them do what she actually orders. Rana noticed it right away that she kind of remind her of Azula which is somewhat similar to her personality. Kuvira will do whatever it takes to establish "order" in the Earth Kingdom.

I remember learning towards the end of Book 3 that Kuvira was voiced by Zelda Williams (Robin William’s daughter as previously mentioned) and that was around the time Robin passed, now I’m not sure if she worked on Book 4 before or after that but her performance throughout the book is great and if the latter is the case, it’s all the more impressive

In my personal opinion, it would be so perfect for you guys to double drop the last two episodes of this Book 4, if you all can, that way we could say good bye to this amazing show and you all's reactions. I really hope you guys hold that love at the end of the season just like I did when I first watched it. For me to watch you all's reactions, it's like as if I were there with you guys watching it all together since I unfortunately can't share this amazing show with my friends. :( I really hope you guys make the finale a very special moment to appreciate this show and to say goodbye to it.
