The Legend of Korra - 3x13 Venom of the Red Lotus - Group Reaction

Comments

Anonymous

So, one more season to go in TLOK!!! Are u excited Normies?

Anonymous

I JUST REALIZED YOU DID A DOUBLE UPLOAD TODAY THANKS GUYS U DA BEST

Anonymous

I always get a bit teary at the end. It is so beautiful and sad at the same time - with Jinora getting her tattoos, and Korra's emotional and physical state. She went through so much shit in such short period of time in these 3 seasons.

Anthony

Thank you for the double drop. Cannot wait to see your reactions to 4x2.

Anonymous

Are you guys gonna have a group reaction of more than 4 people for the series finale? Also, just a little heads up but at some point next book there is a recap episode because during production for book 4, nickelodeon had cut the show's budget and the creators still needed to finish their order of 13 episodes so they had a choice to either fire most of their staff or do a recap episode that's mostly reused animation to save money

Anonymous

Good call Micks, 'twas Mercury. can't believe y'all are already on to Book 4!

Anonymous

Isn't it funny how the elements that once gave them freedom led to their ultimate demise! P'li by her own combustion bomb, Ming Hua was electrocuted because she had water arms, Ghazan killed himself by collapsing the entire cavern by lava bending, and lastly, Zaheer was captured due to the tornado created by the airbenders.

Salvatar

Concerning the broken leg comment, if you actually look she airbends at the very end to lessen the impact of the fall.

Tessa Nyx

Poor Rana :(

Anonymous

Careful Jinora, your aang is showing. 😂

Anonymous

Guys, she didn't break her legs, right before her fall she softened the landing with airbending

Anonymous

do you react to trailers as well? would've been pretty dope

Ashore

To me, Book 4 isn't as good as Book 3, but it's still very good. I have a few issues with it, but I won't allude to what they are, that way you can make your own decisions on it. For me, in order, it's: Book 3 > Wan's Story > Book 4 = Book 1 > Book 2 (I still love Book 2, I just have the most problems with it.)

Anonymous

book 4 has an awesome trailer, but I think they should go in blind

Edwin Wickey

Every single one of them being airbenders who got their airbending from the same freak event that gave Zaheer his. An event that he saw as a sign that their path was a riteous one...

Anonymous

The poison was Mercury. Think about that. She had a gallon of Mercury bent directly into her system.

Lalisa Truong

Zaheer's defeat was very poetic when you think about it. He not only got taken down by airbenders, but he was chained and slammed back down to the earth after "achieving true freedom" and "no longer being bound to this earth". Overall, to say the least, Korra was put through some real shit and barely made it out alive by the end. What a finale, am I right?! That ending also was really bittersweet. I was so happy for Jinora and was even hopeful, but then you see Korra sitting in that wheelchair looking so depressed and not being her usual spunky, fiery self... and it's just really unsettling. It actually took me back to the start of the series when as a kid, she confidently declared "I'm the Avatar, and you gotta deal with it!" Well, it looks like she's finally realizing the weight of those words, and she looks broken. B1: Korra loses her bending B2: Korra loses her past lives B3: Korra loses her physical capabilities B4: Korra puts herself back together??

PKKite

Yall are so black and white on villains its pretty sad.

Anonymous

amazing reaction and the feels just hit everyone lol. Just a FYI, book 4 isn’t as near as good as book 3. So don’t put your expectations too high for the series finale. It’s still pretty good, but not nearly as good...

Anonymous

Have u started watching book 4 normies?? A week or two before u said u finished book 3....

Anonymous

Most gratifying part of following these reactions, seeing you all wipe tears at that final scene. Knowing it's not just me who starts bawling everytime I see it.

Anonymous

Also, as usual, Rana comes close enough to the right prediction, and the boys gaslight her. Sigh.

Ben Wenger

Everybody loves Book 3, and rightfully so, but Book 4 is my jam. I think it's paced way better, the villain has probably the best motivation of any villain in any show I've ever seen, and the story is a lot more interesting. Book 4 does have more problems than Book 3 (*cough*Meelo*cough*), but I think it's more well rounded.

MAY

Awww it's okay Rana. Seeing Rana tear up had me tearing up fam

cosmotron

I love Book 3 and Book 4 pretty equally, but I'd probably give the slightest edge to 4 because it personally resonates with me more. But this finale is incredible, and makes me cry every time. I think one of the interesting (and heartbreaking) things about Korra's journey in the show is that in every finale, she has, in some way, had an aspect of her identity - specifically being the Avatar - taken from her. In Book 1 of course she lost her bending, Book 2 was her connection to her past lives, and here she has, at least as of this finale, lost her physicality. And we see when she's poisoned how these past events still effect her, and it's clear the events of this finale will too. Great reaction, as usual!

MAY

It's all good tho. It'll be worth when she gets to say "I told you so."

Justin Neason

Everyone at the end... Me too, ya'll... Me too..... Book 4 is amazing, buut personally this is my fav. The fight being so much like ATLA fight, the intensity, the bittersweet ending, and Ginora's tatts... Especially that last frame too.. It's just so great ;_;

slvr572

No spoilers, Book 4 is great. It starts to pay off how the consequences of book 2 flow into book 3, and then furthermore into book 4. Korra's progression throughout the books is one of my favourite aspects of the show. Whether book 3 is better than book 4 is really subjective. I think the pacing in book 3 might be a bit better. The tension build up is slow and steady and pays of amazingly in the end. In book 4, it's maybe a little more uneven. BUT, in book 4 I feel there are many more moments of cheers and tears. <3 Korra. EDIT: Also, it cannot be stated enough how amazing the soundtrack is for Korra. Jeremy Zuckerman is brilliant.

Joseph Sanchez

Being frozen in the Avatar State in the iceberg for 100 years shortened Aang's lifespan. He died around the age 60, which isn't really old age. It's not mentioned in the show but the creator's said this is what happened.

Anonymous

All Hail the Great Uniter!

Anonymous

What a great reaction, i love Book 3 and Book 4 is just amazing, book 3 is so bittersweet.

Anonymous

They gonna be shock the 1st 2 Epsiodes

Anonymous

I like to think of Books 3 and 4 as being one continuous story. That way I don't have to choose and I can easily argue that it's the best overarching story of Avatar PERIOD.

Anonymous

Kuvira was actually introduced in the first episode and appeared throughout the season in varying capacities; go back and watch the ep where Lin yelled at Opal and you'll see a picture and article written on her in the newspaper Lin is reading. Also, Book 4 actually had budget cuts (unlike speculation in Book 2), so be prepared for dips in animation quality.

Leenis

I think my favorite part of the finale fight is that Korra is going for blood. We have never seen the Avatar straight up trying to kill someone. Being poisoned, psychologically abused, thinking she witnessed her father's murder, and enduring a murder attempt put her in full animalistic rage mode going for the kill shot with each attack. Scary and powerful and awe inspiring.

Anonymous

Hi, I'm kinda new, and I don't know if anyone said yet but now you're at this point you guys should watch a video on YouTube called "Rebirth of A Nation" on youtube. It's a fan made avatar compilation of the airbender journey through both series. You don't need to react to it but it's worth a watch if you feel up to some tear-bending.

Anonymous

Between laughing hard at the Mickey “I think...” edits, and Suraj’s little uplifting words at the very end, not only was this probably the best finale, but it was one of your best reaction videos. Glad you guys loved it, thanks for all your hard work (double-drop AND super early whaaat?!), loved your theories and discussions, and on to the fantastic Book 4! Knowing how much you guys appreciate political and philosophical aspects, I think you guys will (hopefully!) love it :)

Anonymous

So cute how all of them teared up... and those were some wise words Suraj

MarkyO

+1 If you saw it all the way to the end and saw a glimpse of Iroh

Dan Snow

I feel like people often don’t consider how much Zaheer went to in this finale aswell - from seeing his lifes mission almost fulfilled to losing his friends, his love and everything he worked for must be an insane burden. His break down in the end shows just how much he believed in his cause - so much actually that he can’t fathom this new reality. Obviously the means he used for his ends are undisputably unaccteptable in our society, nonetheless I feel its to much to wish him suffering or death - his complexity and ideas are after all what makes him so compelling as a villain and a great philosopher in his own right - just imagine having a chill conversation with peaceful Zaheer in a Pub, life changing!

Anonymous

Gotta say I first got patreon to watch season 3 but it really disappointed this season

Neil Patel

Rana has so many great takes but you guys underrate her at times :(

Anonymous

Feel bad for ghazan say what you want be he seemed like a really chill sarcastic and laid back guy and you got to be tough from not going insane in those prisons. And hate how bad the writers made him look dying for nothing it would have been a cool comic we're Ming hua and ghazan actually secretly survived

Anonymous

So mako and bolin got away with a murder and making a guy commit suicde

Anonymous

Thanks for the double drop, cozy 4! The ending always gets me. Hope you guys are enjoying book 4 ATM. A reminder about Korra's strength - since she was cut off from her past lives at the end of book 2, her fight with Zaheer was simply her strength, skills, and power alone (probably amplified by the Avatar State).

Gezno

Next Avatar: It speaks emoji!!!

Anonymous

Suraj your reaction to lightning kills me everytime! amazing!

Anonymous

I think books 1 and 3 are the best. I have nitpicks but nothing that major. Books 2 and 4 are far more of a mix of good and bad for me. In book 2 the bad (far) outweighs the good while in book 4 the good outweighs the bad. I think book 4 has the most relevant and nuanced political situation (even though I think Amon is the best villain as an individual) and also is where Korra as a character is the most complex and interesting.

Duke

and so Korrasami begins

Anonymous

Son los mejores. 👏🏼

Anonymous

Book 3 was literally the writers trying to bring back fans by making it similar to ATLA. MISSION COMPLETE

Jose

The Great Uniter is next

Anonymous

The contrast of the joy of Jinora's ceremony and Korra looking dead and shedding a tear always hits me hard.

Anonymous

Normally, this is where I'd refer you to the Book 4 Trailer, but I think your reactions to certain things would be more enjoyable if you came in blind.

Anonymous

BTW Can't wait for the uncut reaction for this episode!

Neil Prospect

Goddamn, Micky's been on point with his predictions these las two episodes.

HesOneShot

Sudan’s idea for that Earth Bender Avatar was awesome!!!

Lavota Carter

I don't think Jinora is the most Aang. She is very studious when Aang was not into the books or history. More about fun and trying to take things as they come spontaneously. Kai as a character is more like Aang to me.

Lavota Carter

For the fact that you guys were all for the Anti-Avatar Gang but Guzhan not wanting to go back to isolation is mocked? Jeez guys they thought they would be able to kill her quickly before she broke the chains. Anyway. Guzhan knows that P'li is dead, Ming-Hua is dead, and Zaheer is probably going to get killed by the rampaging Avatar. I would kill myself too if I know that all of my team's big players (strongest benders most like) are out for good. All that is left for him is a jail cell that he WILL NEVER get out of. Like he will be tortured DIE in prison. It took Zaheer to get them out of their cells, meanwhile there was a whole organization out there that didn't lift a finger to break them out in 13 years?! Yeah, I'm killing myself and taking as many as i can with me.

Anonymous

Question: I’m a $10 premium normie on patron. I’m confused as to how I can access the book 4 reactions they were talking about in the beginning?

King Abydos

killing and murder are not the same thing, Mako killing Ming-Hua in self defense isn't murder.

Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen #1

That part was meant for people watching this when it comes out on YouTube. By the time they see it Book for will already be available for Premium members

Neil Prospect

You guys will enjoy book 4 a lot, but there's nothing that can compete with the book 3 finale choreography

Jose

Thank you my dear friend for informing that. Some people consider of Mako being a killer because simply he killed Ming-Hua.

Killjoy

that is only based off of your perspective many other fans believe book 3 and 4 to be very close to each other in terms of writing and the themes they added in the end we done beautifully again imo

Oscar Villalobos

Oh you guys are in for a surprise ! By the way Book 4 is very relevant to the politics of today. Specifically Fascism

Fadilla Achmad

I love that you guys enjoyed the finale so much!!! I think the Cozy 4 and everyone on this comment section should watch this https://youtu.be/1M20gHifSSw it's a book 3 "alternate ending" made by a fan and It'll make you tearbend all over again.

Fadilla Achmad

I think the major difference between Aang and Korra is that Aang was born into a world that needs him the most while Korra, was born in a world where everyone keeps telling her that she's not needed anymore, season after season. Now it's gotten to the point where the airbenders are going to do her job for her, a job that means the world to her while she's stuck in a wheelchair. She must've felt so hopeless.

Fadilla Achmad

https://youtu.be/5G03b658mVw This tribute to all the Avatar gave me goosebumps

Anonymous

Love your reactions, I cried at the end too. TwT ♥ Can't wait for Season 4~ And great predictions and discussions as well.

Anonymous

Jinora is her own person, she’s calm, spiritual, collected, and a good leader melo and ikki are more like Aang. Melo with his silliness and ikki with her energetic personality

Anonymous

All hail the Great Uniter

Jay M

Cozy 4, you guys are awesome. I'm so sad that this whole Avatar series is about to end as it was such a big part of my childhood and have enjoyed experiencing it all over again with you all. Thank you :D

Cinthia Fernandez

The double drop was amazing! Thank you normies <3

Dake Weng

dude you posted spoilers

MojoJojoGojo

You guys should watch like 3 episodes of season 4 in one day..pacing you know ; 👌👍

Guyssss ... LOOOOOOOKKKK!!!!! A BOOK ABOUT KYOSHI !!! YEAHHHH!!!! https://io9.gizmodo.com/a-pair-of-new-last-airbender-books-will-explore-the-ori-1828692998

MarkyO

I came here specifically because a Normie said someone posted spoilers.

Jose

Yeah i saw that tooo and im hellaaaa excited

Jose

yeah i agree. Book 4: Balance applies so much in our world especially around the time of the Second World War.

Anonymous

It’s been semi-confirmed at this point that Aang’s death was caused by his 100 years stuck in the avatar state, it exhausted his natural lifespan.

Patrick Boyda

Question: I'm a premium patron but I can't find any Book 4 stuff for Korra, I thought for premium patrons. some of that stuff was available?

Chai Tea

loved your reactions, what a great finale

Anonymous

Nah, this is where they are right now for premium patrons. They're first book 4 reaction should be this Wednesday. I think the Early Tier patron's are at S3E8 and Youtube is at S3E7 as of today.

Anonymous

"Cool you can leave now."

Anonymous

Y'all shit on ghazan but don't even say his name right and nahid, micky and rana don't even say his name once all season. In fact none of you say their names right except for zaheer

Burooj Ahanger

yea, each season until the 3 removed the roles of avatar, first season talked about bending, 2nd removed her role as the bridge b/w spirits/world, and 3rd removes her role as a balance keeper since the airbenders take up the role.

Lawrence Bersamin

my fave moment of the entire Korra series is Jinora getting her tattoo and the Avatar theme and her resembling Aang and that whole scene.
