Technically this isnt a season finale because the show is technically 1 season and it was netflix that split the show into 13 episode seasons after the show was finished

That 13 episode 'season' in Anime is generally called a 'cour'. Seasonal animes usually have one or two cours per season.

My understanding of Jerso and Zampano (the two chimerae): They were NOT volunteers, the military forced them. It's also never stated, but I think they must have looked very different before they were chimerized. That's why they can't go back to their families--they wouldn't be recognized. Also, being a chimera probably feels AWFUL--your body not matching your brainmap can seriously screw with a person. (She said from experience.)

My favorite part is when Ed and Al are standing alone, and then the people closest to them show up, and then other friends/allies of theirs, and then THOSE people's friends and allies, and... It's exactly what Mustang said to Hughes in Ishval, about protecting the people he cares about etc.

Regarding Marketa's question, I think the two Chimera guys were forced into this. Based on what we see in the episode it doesn't look like they have a lot of choice. They probably have no idea about Father or Bradley being a homunculus, no reason to tell the lower ranking guys I think. All they know is that the government turned them into freaks and can do bad stuff to them if they don't obey. Just an educated guess.

I feel like whatever Chris started thinking endgame-wise back in episode 24 is being revealed in his predictions nowadays. This man is paying attention, and Suraj is picking up on that. I seriously can't wait for next week's episode.

There's a small detail I didn't notice on my first time through, which is that Ed keeps getting the same cut on his forehead. I think the implication is that it never has time to heal fully and keeps reopening.

Without spoiling future events.....just know that Kimblee's chimeras were operating on the lack of information and that the Government would provide them everything they needed for themselves and their families. They may have been doing bad things....but not because they WANTED too. Alphonse telling them that is the spark they needed to believe there are other ways to get out of the situation they are in....and get back to their families. Plus....like I said.....without spoiling......they along with a plethora of other characters will see the "truth" behind what the Government and the Homunculi are doing.
